My Index4Index Daily Inspired Motivation today is about the importance of constantly improving, refining, and reinventing what we do, in all domains of life, including in business and our entrepreneurial persuits. Don't fix what ain't broken, but also be open to the possibility of actually making things work even better.
"Success comes from persistently improving and inventing, not from the persistently promoting what's not working."
- Derek Sivers
It's so easy for us, once we find something that works, to keep ourselves within the narrow parameters of what we know works. While continuing with what works is indeed a very good idea, exploring and experiment beyond what we know is also very useful, beneficial, and important for our long-term growth, fulfillment, and success, as there may indeed be things that work better than what we've so far discovered.
Maintaining our present known successful ways of doing things, while we explore, experiment, and tinker on the side, can very often lead to some astonishingly useful discoveries. These side discoveries can then either be integrated into our present methods, or if they are even more useful, they can replace our original way of doing things.
New is not always better, and often isn't, so it's most definitely not about making arbitrary changes to a process just for the sake of it. It's paying attention to aspects of the process that maybe don't work as well as they could, then being open to finding a way to improve the situation.
Acknowledge and honor what works, while also always seeking to improve, refine, and make things work even better. Evolve, in everything!
Remember, dear friends, that we are all in this together, that we rise by lifting others, and that together we thrive, so onward and upward, joyfully together! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
