¡Hola, amigos! Feliz martes de talentos. Espero que estén pasando un día excelente. Soy Yeli Marín y hoy me uno a la celebración semanal de la comunidad. Me parece muy simbólica la conexión que establecemos con cada uno de nuestros aportes y anécdotas de vida, reflejada en cada tema de la semana.
Justo hace poco estaba hablando con un amigo sobre este tema. Por eso siempre conecto con la comunidad, porque los temas terminan siendo muy reales, de los que todos tenemos algo que contar. Este tema de seguir a los grupos es algo en lo que no encajo. Digo, sí soy una mujer social y me gusta relacionarme con otros grupos, pero nunca perdiendo nuestro propio criterio.
A lo largo de la vida, he podido ver cómo las personas a mi alrededor siguen un patrón, porque lo aprendieron así, porque todos lo hacen, e incluso cuando ellos no quieren hacerlo, en un "porque está de moda" o en un "porque así mi familia lo hacía". Esto se convierte en un patrón heredado que seguimos transmitiendo a nuevas generaciones.
Hello, friends! Happy Talent Tuesday. I hope you are having a great day. I'm Yeli Marín and today I join the weekly celebration of the community. I find it very symbolic the connection we establish with each of our contributions and life anecdotes, reflected in each theme of the week.
Just recently I was talking to a friend about this topic. That's why I always connect with the community, because the topics end up being very real, that we all have something to tell. This issue of following groups is something I don't fit into. I mean, yes I am a social woman and I like to relate to other groups, but never losing our own criteria.
Throughout life, I have been able to see how people around me follow a pattern, because they learned it that way, because everyone does it, and even when they don't want to, in a “because it is fashionable” or in a “because that's the way my family did it”. This becomes an inherited pattern that we continue to pass on to new generations.
Rompiendo patrones Entender que no siempre debe ser así implica una gran madurez: discernir entre lo bueno y lo malo, teniendo conciencia de qué es realmente bueno y qué es realmente malo. Sabiendo que nuestros hijos no deben cargar con maldiciones generacionales impuestas por familias que, a la larga, más restan que suman.
Romper con estas cadenas es posible cuando queremos hacerlo diferente y no repetir lo malo que llegamos a ver en nuestra familia. Siempre podemos mejorar lo que consideremos; lo importante es que ese ajuste o cambio que queramos hacer en nuestra vida o en nuestra familia sea para bien.
Quiero darles unos ejemplos: en el caso de mi familia materna, todas las mujeres que he conocido han tenido varias parejas y, en su mayoría, no han sido apegadas a sus hijos. En el caso de mi mamá, fue la única que se casó legal y religiosamente, formó su hogar y se dedicó a criar a sus hijos junto a su esposo, aun cuando fue una niña abandonada por su madre y la conoció recién al cumplir la mayoría de edad.
Breaking patterns Understanding that it should not always be this way implies great maturity: discerning between good and bad, being aware of what is really good and what is really bad. Knowing that our children should not be burdened with generational curses imposed by families that, in the long run, subtract more than they add.
Breaking these chains is possible when we want to do it differently and not repeat the bad things we see in our family. We can always improve whatever we consider; the important thing is that the adjustment or change we want to make in our life or in our family is for the better.
I want to give you some examples: in the case of my maternal family, all the women I have known have had several partners and, for the most part, they have not been attached to their children. In the case of my mother, she was the only one who married legally and religiously, formed her home and dedicated herself to raising her children with her husband, even though she was a child abandoned by her mother and only met her when she came of age.
Ella se dedicó a ser la madre que ella no tuvo. Pudo haber seguido el patrón, pero por el contrario, ella decidió romperlo. En el caso de mi papá, también fue un niño dado en adopción a una vecina. Aunque sus padres estaban físicamente cerca, el ejemplo que vio en su padre fue el de gustarle la vida alegre, las mujeres, las fiestas y el alcohol. Sin embargo, mi papá decidió no ser igual a su padre y rompió el patrón.
Todos pensaron que por ser el hijo mayor seguiría los pasos de su papá y, por el contrario, él decidió ser muy diferente. Del mismo modo, yo he querido ser mejor en muchos aspectos y espero que mis hijos también lo hagan mejor que yo.
La sociedad actual y los valores Algo que veo preocupante en la sociedad en este momento es ver cómo los valores de la familia se han ido perdiendo de forma exponencial. Cada vez la sociedad está más dañada y las redes sociales han jugado un papel importante. Seguimos llamando bueno a lo malo e imitando patrones que existen por un momento de fama, pero que terminan dañando cada vez más al ser humano, sobre todo a las nuevas generaciones.

Everyone thought that because he was the eldest son he would follow in his father's footsteps and, on the contrary, he decided to be very different. In the same way, I have wanted to be better in many ways and I hope that my children will also do better than me.
Today's society and values Something that I see worrying in society at the moment is to see how family values have been lost exponentially. Society is increasingly damaged and social networks have played an important role. We continue calling good to bad and imitating patterns that exist for a moment of fame, but that end up damaging more and more the human being, especially the new generations.
Esto lo vemos reflejado en la música y en la forma de bailarla. Sin embargo, entender que no porque otro lo haga yo debo hacerlo nos eleva a un nivel superior, porque con madurez comprendemos que ese tipo de bailes, como el "perreo", lo que nos hace es denigrarnos, tanto a hombres como a mujeres. Los retos que cada vez generan millones de vistas nos hacen darnos cuenta de una sociedad corrompida, con falta de valores, pero no tenemos que ser iguales.
No tenemos que seguir el mismo patrón. Es momento de despertar. No porque mi amiga lo haga yo debo hacerlo. Vestirme de una forma que no me gusta aunque otros lo hagan porque es tendencia me hace tener las riendas de mi vida. La moda no define tu vida, tú lo haces. Tú decides qué escuchas y cómo cultivas tu mente y espíritu, y el ejemplo que dejas para tu familia. ¡Es momento de despertar y el cambio comienza por ti!

However, understanding that not because someone else does it, I should do it raises us to a higher level, because with maturity we understand that this type of dances, such as “perreo”, what it does to us is to denigrate us, both men and women. We do not have to follow the same pattern. It is time to wake up. Not because my friend does it, I have to do it. Dressing in a way that I don't like even if others do it because it's a trend makes me take control of my life. Fashion doesn't define your life, you do. You decide what you listen to and how you cultivate your mind and spirit, and the example you leave for your family. It's time to wake up and change starts with you!
