Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to partake in a bit of a trend and see how it goes!

Putting Forth
Dabbling in some new tools can be fun!
I've been in between in terms of AI. It's a powerful tool, and it will for sure help with a lot of things, but it's also incredibly dangerous because it is likely going to be used for the wrong purposes.
Thankfully for my purposes.. it's being used for really normal stuff! One of those things that I've done once before is dabble in a little photo generation. I am mainly looking for cover photos and profile photos for the communities I've created. With everyone being able to generate pictures these days, I was considering hosting a contest, and still might, but at the same time if they are just going to generate an AI photo, I might as well generate them myself..
So I took the PeakD feature up to task! I was playing around with the generation, expecting to pay a little bit of HBD for the process. Apparently these days, if you are doing some pretty lightweight generating, you don't need to pay some fee which is cool! I didn't mind having to pay if it came down to it, but getting it free is also a good thing.
Here are the two main generations that I ended up keeping and going with. I saved the others just in case.. but I thought these looked the best! These have been applied to the Personal Privacy community cover photo and profile photo!
I was going for something a little bit more than that.. but I think these look pretty cool. I wanted to see what it could give me for someone who was fighting the good fight for privacy, with computers and stuff around. The second generation looks like superman lol I thought that was a little lame but the picture came out pretty cool anyway!
This is one of the things with the AI generation of things like images. It won't supplant the ability for someone to do it themselves, but it lowers the bar for being able to put something together to make due until a future date when we can find someone else to do it that might have better creativity and give a cooler photo.
Do I love AI? No, because of what it represents in a lot of insidious ways. I do use it like any tool though. It won't replace me in the things that I like to do such as writing or taking photos, but it can help me put my idea forward in terms of trying to figure out an idea I am trying to convey, but lack the skills to create it myself on my own either through drawing or through making it on my computer.
I did enjoy being able to think about it for a few days, the prompt that I wanted to use, and then seeing how the AI software used what I was trying to convey and turned it into the different images that it provided me, with different themes.
What about you, do you use AI for many things? What are the main ones? Let me know in the comments!
