Part of the idea of keeping past achievements in Marketing in mind has to do with the way the HIVE feed works. I also understand that one of the objectives of the initiative of the BuzzParty Meet Hive! community is to keep information that would otherwise be lost because it has been published in other communities, available to the entire community. That is why we decided to share the details of our participation in the Crypto Latin Fest held in Bogota, Colombia, last August.
Our trip started before it took place because Arlette, my travel companion, did the conducive to obtain from @valueplan, the necessary resources to participate in one of the largest Crypto conferences in Colombia. A much larger audience than the one that attended the BlockchainCon LATAM 2023 in Peru. Nearly 4,000 people visited the HIVE booth specially designed for the event. Needless to say that without the help of the local Hivers, it would not have been possible to attend so many people.

Parte de la idea de tener presentes los logros del pasado en Marketing, tiene que ver con la forma en la que el feed de HIVE funciona. Comprendo también que uno de los objetivos de la iniciativa de la comunidad BuzzParty Meet Hive! es mantener a la vista de toda la comunidad, información que de otro modo se perdería, en razón de haber sido publicadas en otras comunidades. Es por ello que decidimos compartir los detalles de nuestra participación en el Cripto Latin Fest acontecido en Bogotá, Colombia, en Agosto pasado.
Nuestro viaje comenzó antes de realizarse porque Arlette, mi compañera de viaje, hizo lo conducente para obtener de @valueplan, los recursos necesarios para participar en una de las conferencias Cripto más grandes de Colombia. Una cantidad de público mucho mayor a la asistente en la BlockchainCon LATAM 2023 en Perú. Cerca de 4000 personas pasaron por el stand de HIVE diseñado especialmente para el encuentro. Demás está decir que sin la ayuda de los Hivers locales, no habría sido posible atender tanta gente.
Colombia is a country much more educated in the crypto-sphere. Hence the enormous expectation created around the event. The city of Bogota we had visited twice before, but we got a very different city to the one we remember. The cold is the only thing that has not changed. On the first day of the event we arrived at the booth and everything started at the appointed time. As the venue began to fill up around eleven o'clock in the morning, a strong tremor of almost magnitude 6.0 on the Richter scale was felt in the venue.
The event had chosen as its location the interactive spaces of the Maloka museum. A kind of permanent science exhibition, the ceiling lamps began to move strongly. It was not until after a second movement, called an aftershock, that the alarms sounded to order the evacuation of the building. The event would be suspended until it was safe to return. Since breakfast had been light, we looked for a place to eat lunch and found a shopping mall nearby. The event organizers told us that everything would resume at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Colombia es un país mucho más educado en la onda de la cripto-esfera. De allí la enorme expectativa creada alrededor del evento. La ciudad de Bogotá ya la habíamos visitado dos veces antes, pero nos conseguimos una urbe muy diferente a la que recordamos. El frío es lo único que no ha cambiado. El primer día del evento llegamos al stand y todo comenzó a la hora indicada. Cuando el recinto comenzó a llenarse cerca de las once de la mañana, un fuerte temblor de magnitud casi cercana a 6.0 en la escala de Richter se sintió en el recinto.
El evento había escogido como emplazamiento a los espacios interactivos del museo Maloka. Una especie de exposición de ciencias permanente, las lámparas del techo comenzaron a moverse fuertemente. No fue sino hasta después de un segundo movimiento llamado réplica, que las alarmas sonaron para dar orden de evacuación del edificio. El evento se suspendería hasta que fuera seguro regresar. Como el desayuno había sido liviano, buscamos donde almorzar y conseguimos un centro comercial cerca. La organización del evento nos avisó que a las dos y media de la tarde todo recomenzaría.
The afternoon was very busy at the booth and my colleague Arlette, as well as myself, were networking. In the evening we went out late for dinner and went to bed early to attend the next day, which would be very busy because it would be the HIVE exhibition in the cycle of talks. Arlette would be responsible for representing our ecosystem. We decided to go around the different stands of the exhibition in order to learn about the other projects present.
One of them caught my attention because it was a very attractive design t-shirt, these had the particularity that they were tokenized in Ethereum NFT's. They retained light and in dark places certain parts of the t-shirt glowed because they were made of reflective material. Very nice, indeed. One of the things I have learned at various events of this type is the profuse presence of exchanges and stars-up related to DeFi finance. On the hunt for investors' money.

La tarde fue de mucho trabajo en el stand y mi compañera Arlette, además de éste servidor, estuvimos haciendo networking. En la noche salimos tarde a cenar y nos acostamos temprano para atender el día siguiente, el cual sería muy movido porque sería la exposición de HIVE en el ciclo de charlas. Arlette sería la responsable de representar nuestro ecosistema. Decidimos rondar los diferentes stands de la exposición con el fin de aprender sobre los demás proyectos presentes.
Uno de ellos llamó mi atención porque eran unas remeras de diseño muy atrayente, éstas tenían la particularidad de que se encontraban tokenizadas en NFT's de Ethereum. Retenían la luz y en lugares oscuros brillaban ciertas partes de la remera que estaban hechas de material reflectante. Muy bonitas, la verdad. Una de las cosas que he aprendido en varios eventos de este tipo es la profusa presencia de exchanges y stars-up relacionadas a finanzas DeFi. A la caza del dinero de inversionistas.
The day went by without any major news. Arlette gave the talk and in the evening we went to have stuffed arepas for dinner with the team of hivers that had helped us at the stand. The next night was the closing party, I was tired and was not going to go, but Katha Jimenez encouraged me and we got dressed to go. In the middle of a space with Tejo (a popular Colombian game) courts, we met a journalist CEO of "Criptotendencia", one of the three most influential Spanish-speaking media in the world of crypto-assets. We became slang buddies.
The result of our conversations at the party? An article in the media based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The truth is that representing HIVE in events is something we are good at and we have had extraordinary achievements. The Caracas Blockchain Week to be held at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, in Caracas, Venezuela. We will be there giving our best to represent HIVE. Don't doubt it.

El día transcurrió sin mayores novedades. Arlette dio la charla y en la noche fuimos a cenar arepas rellenas junto al team de hivers que nos habían ayudado en el stand. La noche siguiente era la fiesta de cierre, yo estaba cansado y no iba a ir, pero Katha Jiménez me animó y nos vestimos para asistir. En medio de un espacio con canchas de Tejo (un popular juego colombiano), conocimos a un periodista CEO de "Criptotendencia", uno de los tres medios más influyentes hispanohablantes en el mundo de los cripto-activos. Nos hicimos compañeros de jerga.
¿El resultado de nuestras conversaciones en la fiesta? Un artículo en el medio de comunicación basado en Buenos Aires, Argentina. La verdad que ésto de representar a HIVE en eventos se nos da bien y hemos tenido logros extraordinarios ¿El próximo? La Caracas Blockchain Week a desarrollarse en la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, en Caracas, Venezuela. Estaremos allí entregando lo mejor para representar a HIVE. No lo duden.
