Hola Amigos de Hive, espero se encuentren muy bien, hoy quiero llevarlos conmigo a las 32 horas en el hospital! como les conte en mi Introducing myself soy Interno de Pre grado de Medicina, lo que me lleva a tener que cumplir con servicios de atencion a los pacientes, Guardias de 24 horas, y clases academicas referente a la catedra en este caso Ginecologia y Obstetricia.

As I told you in my Introducing myself, I am an Undergraduate Medicine Intern, which leads me to have to comply with patient care services, 24-hour Guards, and academic classes related to the chair, in this case Gynecology and Obstetrics.
como interno la hora de llegada a los servicio es a las 6:00 am, para asi poder adelantar todo tipo de procedimiento/Curas a realizar en el piso antes de que el especialista llegue a pasar revista. (los especialistas llegan mas o menos a las 8: 00 am) este dia tuve suerte de alcanzar el ascensor, ya que piso de ginecologia queda en el 8vo piso, cuando el ascensor no sirve o hay mucha gente esperando subir, debemos subir las escaleras (y es inevitable no empezar a sudar desde las 6:00 am jajja)
As an intern, the time of arrival at the service is at 6:00 am, in order to be able to advance all kinds of procedures/Cures to be carried out on the floor before the specialist arrives to review. una vez en piso, tuvimos que hacer curas a las distintas pacientes que se encuentraban hospitalizadas, hacer la evolucion del día, tomar signos vitales, y esperar la revista medica, la cual no sucedio debido a que el Especialista tuvo algunos problemas con su auto. (fuimos los mas suertudos haha), a las 9:00am fuimos a clase de obstetricia con el Dr Pérez, especialista y jefe del servicio en el hospital, es el quien nos da la catedra de obstetricia, que consiste en lo relacionado con el embarazo, asi como el manejo y conducción del parto. una catedra bastante bonita para los que sienten interés por este tipo de materias

(we were the luckiest haha), at 9:00 a.m. we went to obstetrics class with Dr. Pérez, a specialist and head of the service at the hospital, he is the one who gives us the obstetrics class, which consists of everything related to pregnancy , as well as the management and conduction of childbirth. a pretty nice chair for those who are interested in this type of subject.
despues de la clase, era momento de cambiarnos de ropa para iniciar la guardia por sala de parto, la hora de entrada es a la 1:oo pm, por lo que teníamos 1 hora para almorzar y cambiarnos, a esta altura del dia, mis compañeros de guardia y yo ya estabamos un poco cansados y aun no recibíamos guardia D:

las guardias de ginecología y obstetricia son bastante pesadas, ya que el hospital en donde hacemos vida, recibe las emergencias de 4 estados en total, lo que nos lleva a tener unos días bastante pesados, una vez llegan las pacientes, que generalmente vienen ya en espera de dilatar completamente o cuando los especialistas que le controlan el embarazo, las envían para programar cesárea segmentaria, (Que es un procedimiento quirúrgico en el cual se extrae el bebe por una abertura realizada en quirófano) las cesáreas son procedimientos cortos y bastantes interesantes.
The gynecology and obstetrics shifts are quite heavy, since the hospital where we live receives emergencies from 4 states in total, which leads us to have quite heavy days, once the patients arrive, who generally come in waiting to dilate completely or when the specialists who control the pregnancy, send them to schedule a segmental cesarean section, (which is a surgical procedure in which the baby is extracted through an opening made in the operating room) cesarean sections are short and quite interesting procedures.
ese día fue mi turno de bajar a quirófano para ser ayudante de una cesárea segmentaria programada. personalmente adoro estar en quirófano, me encanta el ambiente quirúrgico (fan de cirugía general aquí) el siempre hecho de estar en la zona gris de quirófano me hace demasiado feliz
that day it was my turn to go down to the operating room to be an assistant for a scheduled segmental cesarean section. I personally love being in the OR, I love the surgical environment (general surgery fan here) always being in the gray area of the OR makes me too happy
a las 7:00 pm terminaron las cesáreas, y subí de nuevo a sala de parto donde estaban mis compañeros de guardia, quienes habían atendido muchos partos y ingresado muchas mas gestantes para distintos procedimientos, es importante contarles que sala de parto se divide en distintas secciones, admisión que es donde las pacientes sol valoradas, e ingresadas, sala de eco, en donde pasan a realizarles eco tanto abdominales como transvaginales, pre parto, que es donde van las gestantes que están a la espera de lograr la dilatación completa para poder enviarlas a sala de parto, que es el lugar donde los niños son traídos la mundo por el personal de la salud.

una vez allí fui invitada a visualizar un hallazgo súper curioso, una paciente que llego por hallazgo ecográfico, en el cual se evidencio una alteración del feto que se estaba formando. motivado a esto debieron hacerle una Aspiración endometrial para extraer el feto

posterior a esto, ya eran las 11 pm, la guardia seguía entre ingresos, partos vaginales, y ecos, en las guardias siempre nos repartimos para poder dormir al menos 3 horas, siendo los turnos de 12pm a 3am / de 3 am a 6am.
after this, it was already 11 pm, the shift continued between admissions, vaginal deliveries, and echoes, on shifts we always split up to be able to sleep at least 3 hours, the shifts being from 12 pm to 3 am / from 3 am to 6 am.
finalmente se hicieron las 6 am, del otro día, ya eran 24 horas en el hospital. salí de sala de parto para poder desayunar, bañarme y arreglarme para la clase y servicio del día de hoy.

el hospital cuenta con un lugar llamado estación central en donde generalmente desayunas a gusto, no hay cosa mas placentera que tomarse un café luego de una guardia desastrosa. ya un poco menos demacrada y arreglada para el día

el servicio fue agotador, el estar de post guardia siempre te agrega un poco de peso invisible, habían pocas pacientes en piso así que salimos a clase temprano para poder retirarnos pronto a nuestras casas
the service was exhausting, being on duty always adds a little invisible weight, there were few patients on the floor so we left class early to be able to go home early
y asi fue como pasaron 32 horas en el hospital, dias cansados y dificiles, pero al final son dias en los cuales agradeces haber podido cumplir tu sueño de ser medico, de poder ayudar a las personas y a pesar del tiempo que amerita, al finalizar el dia te sientes bastante bien y realizado. espero les haya gustado este blog!

and that's how they spent 32 hours in the hospital, tired and difficult days, but in the end they are days in which you are grateful for having been able to fulfill your dream of being a doctor, of being able to help people and despite the time it takes, at the end of the day you feel quite good and fulfilled.
