Hace un par de noches se fue la luz acá en mi casa a eso de las 8:00pm como todos los niños mi hija le tiene miedo a la oscuridad y todos los seres humanos sentimos miedo a la oscuridad, pues es un miedo que traemos de la época de las cavernas, cuando quedábamos expuestos a las fieras salvajes durante la noche, es un miedo inconsciente.

En el momento que se fue la luz, afortunadamente yo estaba a su lado, pero fue una travesía encontrar velas a alumbrar los espacios de la casa, pues la zona que vivo muy poco se va la luz, porque esta relativamente cerca del hospital central y cortan la luz en todos lados menos acá, pero no pasamos lisos, de vez en cuando también nos quitan la luz.

Así que bueno después de un par de minutos encontramos las velas y alumbramos la casa. Sin embargo al otro día recordé que tenía muchos desperdicios de parafina guardados del apagón del año pasado y me puse manos a la obra a hacer esa tarea que tenia pendiente de hacer velas.

A couple of nights ago the lights went out here in my house at about 8:00pm like all children my daughter is afraid of the dark and all human beings are afraid of the dark, because it is a fear that we bring from the time of the caves, when we were exposed to wild beasts during the night, it is an unconscious fear.

At the moment that the light went out, fortunately I was at his side, but it was a journey to find candles to light the spaces of the house, because the area that I live very little goes out of light, because it is relatively close to the central hospital and they cut the light everywhere but here, but we do not pass smooth, from time to time they also take the light away.

So after a couple of minutes we found the candles and lit the house. However, the next day I remembered that I had a lot of paraffin waste saved from last year's blackout and I set to work doing that task I had pending to make candles.

Una vez dispuestos nuestros ingredientes, debemos proceder a preparar nuestras velas.

Procedimiento

• Los primero que debemos hacer es colocar los residuos en una olla que no usaremos en la cocina, pues retirar los residuos es engorroso, y siempre quedan pegados al recipiente.
• Raspamos la varita de sándalo sobre nuestra parafina
  *Colocamos al fuego medio la parafina hasta esperar que este completamente derretida.
  *Mientras podemos ir preparando los moldes, en mi caso use moldes de silicón fácilmente desmontables, pero en caso de no tener, pueden pueden colocar papel aluminio a su molde y una capa de aceite al papel aluminio para que no se quede pegada la parafina y despegue.
• Cuando la parafina este derretida debemos encerar los pabilos que vamos a colocar a las velas.
• No debemos esperar a que la parafina hierva, así que cuando este completamente derretida procedemos a colocar en los moldes.
• Amarramos los pabilos a un lápiz o a un palito de altura y los colocamos dentro de los moldes ya con parafina, procurando que queden en el medio, pueden hacer un nudo al final del pabilo para que haga mas peso en el fondo de la vela y no se mueva.

Procedure

• The first thing to do is to put the waste in a pot that we will not use in the kitchen, because removing the waste is cumbersome, and it always sticks to the container.
• We scraped the sandalwood wand over our paraffin
  *We place the paraffin in the middle of the fire until it's completely melted
  *While we can prepare the molds, in my case I used easily removable silicone molds, but if you do not have them, you can put aluminum foil to your mold and a layer of oil to the aluminum foil so that the paraffin does not stick and take off.
• When the paraffin is melted, we must wax the wicks that we are going to place on the candles.
• We must not wait for the paraffin to boil, so when it is completely melted we proceed to place it in the molds.
• Tie the wicks to a pencil or a stick of height and place them inside the molds and with paraffin, trying to be in the middle, you can make a knot at the end of the wick to make more weight in the bottom of the candle and not move.

• Esperamos un par de horas a que estén complemente sólidos y desmoldamos, si tienen niños inquietos en sus casas es mejor colocarlo en un lugar donde no puedan alcanzar.
• Un truco que utilice para evitar el peligro para los niños fue esperar que estuviera tibio el molde ya estaba solidificando y podía agarrarlo fácilmente, los metí 10 minutos al congelador y listo, terminaron de solidificar muy rápido, pero es importante esperar que estén tibios no calientes, para evitar que nuestro congelador se dañe.

• We wait a couple of hours for them to be completely solid and then we remove them, if they have restless children in their homes it is better to put them in a place where they cannot reach.
• One trick I used to avoid danger for the children was to wait until the mold was warm, it was already solidifying and I could grab it easily, I put them in the freezer for 10 minutes and that was it, they solidified very quickly, but it is important to wait for them to be warm not hot, to avoid damaging our freezer.

Una vez listas puedes probar tus velitas, no solo durante un apagón sino tal vez en una noche romántica o para encenderlas y que desprenda su olor para perfumar tu casa. Siempre debes colocarlas sobre recipientes que te permitan luego recuperar la cera.
