Tomorrow's a mystery that's always tapping on your door. it is an inevitable occurrence that lingers in perpetuity. It is that one thing that unifies us all and while it comes in perpetuity, it sadly isn't promised, so there's nothing we can do but hope to be a part of it.
Tomorrow is bleak and for others, it offers a promise. It is a bipolar entity that some avoid and others anticipate. A conundrum of humongous proportion that we cling on to with little or no understanding.
I'm not the kind of person to bother too much about intangibles or abstracts but sometimes, I worry about the future; My future. Perhaps due to my cautious amount of optimism, I find myself struggling with the uncertainties that linger in oblivion, the fear of the unknown and the plethora of changes occurring.
Perhaps it is a function of my immediate environment. The fact that a small fraction of my countrymen that occupy critical positions are bloodthirsty monsters that trickle-down their virtues to the masses and causes chaos. I think it was a quote from the bible that says "When the head is bad, the whole body will be bad". A top-down approach that serves to absolve the bottom feeders of guilt.
Nah, I also think a bottom-up approach also serves a due purpose in this analogy because the rot also comes from the bottom-men. From those of us who easily sell out, those of us who are slaves to money, the victims hurting victims in a bid to earn sustenance. This level of despicableness is unforgivable and instead of devising ways of curbing the spread of this virus, we let it trickle down to tomorrow.
They say tomorrow is a mystery but it doesn't always have to be. You can get a general idea of how the future will be based on activities of today. There are obvious signs and patterns, and they're not really pointing in the right direction. I really hope I'm wrong.
I'm sick of this bleakness, I'm sick of this fear. Instead of causing destruction and hoping our children fix our wrongs, why can't we make life better for them? If not for yourself then for the love of our children, for the love of the future and the chance of creating a better tomorrow, please let's work together to mend the bridge to tomorrow.
