Greetings creative friends of #hive, I wish you are enjoying good health and have a great week together with your loved ones, this time I share the development of a round shorts with printed fabric on the front and black on the sides and back, inspired by Ferox Defender, a character of Splinterlands cards, which I took as reference the brown and black colors present in the printed fabric that forms the front which I combined with black on the sides and back.
Saludos amigos creativos de #hive, deseo se encuentren disfrutando de buena salud y tengan una excelente semana en unión de sus seres queridos, en esta ocasión comparto la elaboración de un short redondo con tela estampada en la parte delantera y color negro en los costados y parte trasera, inspirado en Ferox Defender, un personaje de las cartas de Splinterlands, del cual tomé como referencia los colores marrón y negro presentes en la tela estampada que forma la parte delantera la cual combiné con negro en los laterales y posterior.

The first step was to mark the pieces of the shorts; front, back, sides and waistband, then I glued the bias binding along the edges of the front and back, also at the bottom of the sides using zigzag stitch.

El primer paso fue marcar las piezas del short; delantero, trasero, costados y pretina, luego pegué el sesgo por los bordes del delantero y trasero, también en la parte inferior de los costados usando puntada de zigzag.
After gluing the bias binding, I joined the front and back pieces at the sides with a straight stitch, facing the rectangles backwards and covering their edges with the bias binding.
Pegado el sesgo uní las piezas delantera y posterior por los costados con puntada recta, enfrentando por el revés los rectángulos y cubriendo los bordes de estos con el sesgo.

The next step was to measure the waist circumference to obtain the amount of elastic needed for the shorts (eighty centimeters), then I subtracted ten (10) centimeters leaving a total of seventy (70) centimeters, to make the waistband I placed the elastic in the center of the black strip, folded in such a way that the fabric completely covers the elastic, sewed the ends and then sewed the bottom seam taking care not to sew the elastic that will crease the waistband.
El siguiente paso fue medir el contorno de cintura paraobtener la cantidad de elástico que necesita el short (ochenta centímetros), luego resté diez (10) centímetros quedando un total de setenta (70) centímetros, para hacer la pretina coloqué el elástico en el centro de la tira negra, doblé de tal forma que la tela cubra por completo el elástico, cosí los extremos y luego pasé costura por la parte inferior cuidando de no coser el elástico que arruchará la pretina.
To finish I divided the waistband into four quadrants, pinned it to the shorts and sewed with a straight stitch stretching one (1) centimeter in each quadrant, so a beautiful and comfortable round shorts inspired by Ferox Defender is finished.
Para finalizar dividí la pretina en cuatro cuadrantes, fijé con alfileres al short y cosí con puntada recta estirando un (1) centímetro en cada cuadrante, así está terminado un hermoso y cómodo short redondo inspirado en Ferox Defender.
It is the first time I make a round short and I loved the result, the design is beautiful and youthful; in the sewing process I had a little difficulty to join the sides to the front and back pieces, because I sewed them with the reverse side out, after unstitching, I took up again the sewing and I could achieve it in the second attempt; I liked the bias details on the edges because they give a great style to the short, I hope this tutorial is to your liking and will be very useful.
Es la primera vez que hago un short redondo y me encantó el resultado, el diseño es hermoso y juvenil; en el proceso de costura tuve un poco de dificultad para unir los costados a las piezas delanteras y traseras, pues las cosí con el revés hacia afuera, luego de descoser, retomé nuevamente la costura y pude logralo en el segundo intento; los detalles del sesgo en los bordes me gustaron pues le dan un gran estilo al short, espero este tutorial sea de su agrado y les sea muy útil.
