We are under quarantine again here in Greece! Normally this is valid since Monday, but I was qualified today to be outside the house half the day because I had a visit to the doctor for a check up that couldn't be rescheduled, so I combined it with exercising afterwards!
I totally took advantage of the event to take many photos of my absolutely favourite place in Thessaloniki, Kastra and Ano Poli! I am going to move there when I can afford renting a house on my own! 😺🧡
Walking through the upper town's fortress walls! This region is called Kastra (Castles), and more specifically I started my walk from the Heptapyrgion! Dreadful history, but so beautiful!
Right after passing the fortress' walls, an idyllic coffee shop exists, looking like it is taken out of a fairy tale! Feels like paradise! Too bad that it is closed due to the general lockdown.. I am looking forward to drinking my coffee and socialising here again once this thing is over! It is called Cafe Aithrio Sto Genti Koule!
Very interesting wall art ! 😯
And of course, there can not be a walk that respects itself with no playing and taking photos of cats..! 😹
Continuing the strolling on the upper town's alleys! I love alleys!
A mask selfie with the sky on the background was begging to be taken!
More open space and picturesque fortress walls, parks and view!
More alleys and buildings that bring nice emotions and mind calmness!
And more cats!
And a video, so that you can experience the cuteness overload I had to deal with..! 😻
Serious cat in the jungle..
So the time has come to end the first part on foot and take the bus to downtown!
It's interesting what one can see from the window of the bus! A deserted shoe for example.. Have to guess it doesn't belong to Cinderella (nor would I be willing to try who it fits to..)! 😂
But also beautiful sights!
I could get off just to the stop from where I would take the next bus that would take me home, but I decided to make a small detour with more picturesque things to witness!
This door for example! I have absolutely no idea what it hosts inside it, but I was equally amazed and intrigued! Maybe after quarantine I will be able to go back and discover it!
And an equally impressive tavern ,
Mezedolatreia
! I love the cult aesthetics!
The sky again!
Pictures of a deserted town..
The Roman Forum of Thessaloniki
The - according to some people and confirmed by me - best coffee in town, by Roasters Kolektiva
And the Aristotelous Square!
Finally on the bus stop to take the one for home!
But wait, that's not all! There is a bonus! Some photos from another day that I like a lot and wouldn't be enough for a post on their own! Since they are from almost the same neighborhoods that I was visiting today, I decided to add them to this one!
The view of a church, looking up to it from the street!
On a friend's balcony! She has such a great view and back yard!
And cats of course! Always cats!
Wait, where did the cushions go? (chair ready for trolling people)! 🤣
That's all folks!
Stay safe, happy and sane, try to make out the best of what you can in this weird era of humanity and let's hope we go back to normal normal (good normal) soon enough! 😎
