Regarding my health journey, I’m happy to share that my acid reflux has finally subsided to a level that feels manageable. I'm taking this as a sign that I can start making improvements to my diet in the coming weeks. While I've already made some changes, there are still parts of my diet that I’ve decided to keep. One of those is my oatmeal breakfast, hehe. I’ve grown to really enjoy it, so I plan to stick with it, although I’ll still introduce some slight variations from time to time.
Just the other day, I added some grains and cranberries on top. So far, there hasn’t been any negative reaction, which is a good sign that it's working for me. I think that's great, especially since I’ve read that having variety in our meals is key to a healthy lifestyle. It’s healthier to eat a wide range of nutritious foods rather than sticking to the same types all the time.
Over the past week, I’ve also started adding fortified milk to my oatmeal. I usually add about 100 ml of warm, low-fat milk for extra nutrition. I chose the low-fat version to help ensure the food doesn’t stay too long in the stomach. The idea is that the longer food stays in the stomach, the more gastric acid our body produces to break it down. As a result, acid reflux can develop. To help avoid that, we should eat the right portions and choose foods that are easy to digest and lower in fat and cholesterol.
This concept helped me better appreciate doctors’ advice to avoid fatty foods. It may sound simple, but it’s actually quite crucial because it impacts many aspects of our health. Following this advice can help improve how our entire body functions.
It’s funny how we already know these health tips, but often don’t take them seriously until something goes wrong. We tend to only become health-conscious when we’re unwell, not when we’re feeling perfectly fine—or at least, we think we are. That’s just how many of us approach health. It’s rare to be truly mindful of it when there are no obvious symptoms. We often push ourselves too hard, thinking we can manage, even when our bodies are clearly signaling otherwise.
The lessons I’m learning through experience are truly valuable, which is why I continue sharing them here on my blog. Awareness opens our eyes to things we usually take for granted, and in the process, it helps us grow into better, healthier individuals.
Taking care of our health doesn't have to wait until something goes wrong. The small changes we make today can lead to big improvements over time. I hope my journey encourages you to listen to your body and make mindful choices every day.
