Over the years, I have made small investments in various Hive projects and initiative, along with their associated tokens... which are typically traded on Hive-Engine (or Tribaldex).
Most, sadly, seem to be pretty short-lived... and many end up valued at close to $0.00, even if they have a brief period of glory. Not great... Some simply "disappear," with their founders just vanishing without explanation.
One project that did show both some value and a measure of stability/longetive has been the INDEX Token...at least until fairly recently, when the announcement came through that H-E Index will cease operations. You can read the official post from about a month ago for yourself.
It makes me rather sad to see this go off the map. One of the things I liked was that INDEX paid an assortment of tiny "drip" dividends that actually allowed me to learn more about other Hive projects.
When one of these "unscheduled holes" appear in our plans, it always leaves the question of what we're going to do next to fill the gap.
I decided to sell my modest number of INDEX tokens — even with the veiled suggestion from @he-index that a higher buyback price might happen, down the road. Not to be too skeptical, but I have seen similar promises in the past (not from THIS project, obviously) and they never came to pass... and waiting actually had the opposite effect, resulting in a greater loss.
After thinking about it for a few weeks, I decided to invest the proceeds from selling my INDEX tokens into the "Saturday Savers Club" EDSI tokens instead.
This is another long-term "investment token" on Hive that pays a small weekly dividend in Hive, and I do like their motto of "Get Rich Slowly," bacause it fits well with my own approach to investing and wealth building.
What I also like about this particular project and investment option is that there are regular weekly updates, so you're never left to wonder whether your investment is still "active."
For me, that has a lot of value, in a world where so many projects fall by the wayside.
