When it comes to movies vs video games, I would certainly always choose video games. That doesn’t mean I am not a huge fan of film, in fact I really do love watching a good movie. That’s one of my favorite things to do with @flowerbaby actually. Especially now that I finally have a tv in my bedroom, before we were having to watch everything in bed on my old iPad Mini.
For now we are restricted to using Hulu since I only have a Nintendo Switch to use for streaming on this tv. Luckily I have two docks so I can still switch it over to my gaming tv with ease if I ever want to do that. @flowerbaby is supposed to bring a device over soon that enables us to use other steaming apps. Plus once I get my PS5 in November, I’ll put my old PS4 in my bedroom.
Enough about how I watch movies, let’s talk about what I cannot wait to watch during the final few months of 2020. These two films I am writing about both look perfect for my liking. Continue reading on through this blog as I break down each movie. I will even include a trailer and a link to the IMDB page for both. Plus I will give away a secret movie website at the end of the blog so you can watch both of these films for free once they release.
Free Guy
- Starring: Ryan Reynolds
- In Theaters: December 11, 2020
- IMDB
A bank teller discovers that he's actually an NPC inside a brutal, open world video game.
Imagine living in a world where everything is pretty much the same day in and out. This is the case for the majority of people alive on Earth these days. Working 5 days a week at a job, coming home to relax, then going to bed and doing the same thing the next day until the weekend finally arrives.
It all gets quite monotonous, yet nobody seems to be doing a thing to change it. A select few may go past daydreaming and really ponder whether or not there is more to life. In this film something similar to this occurs. An NPC (non player character) realizes he is living in a video game. He has the power to change what is happening in the world once he wakes up to this reality.
This is the closest thing to Ready Player One (one of my favorite movies of all time) that I’ve seen in quite sometime. When it comes to video games and movies combined into one, I always seem to be interested. As long as it’s well made. Free Guy seems to have a really high budget and plenty of over the top CG animation.
I really cannot wait to experience this film as the plot resonates with me a lot. I’ll be sure to watch it later in December and probably will end up writing another blog about it giving my opinions on the final movie. Sucks it got delayed, it was supposed to release back in July. Looks like it’ll finally be a reality come December.
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (Borat 2)
- Starring: Sacha Baron Cohen
- Available on Prime Video: October 23, 2020
- IMDB
Delivery of a prodigious bribe to American regime for make benefit once glorious nation of Kazakhstan. Follow-up film to the 2006 comedy centering on the real-life adventures of a fictional Kazakh television journalist named Borat.
Oh Borat how I have missed you. The great times I had watching this film multiple times with some of my best friends, my brother, and even my father back when I was younger. It’s been nearly 15 years since the first movie officially came out, but even before that I recall Borat from the Ali G Show.
Sacha Baron Cohen is on of the all time greats when it comes to improv comedy. I look up to what he does quite a bit, because I love playing practical jokes on people in every day situations. That has become a huge genre in itself on YouTube with creators such as Danny Mullen and Cassady Campbell. I know both of those guys took a lot of notes from Borat back in the day.
Now that the second film is finally arriving, it will be interesting to see how Cohen pulls off Borat in public situations. The character is so familiar to the world now, so it will be difficult to pull off many of the things he used to do. Plus our world is now filled with SJWs (social justice warriors) who wish for everything to be politically correct. Some may even say Borat could be in danger with many of the feats he will be showcasing in this film. People get triggered so easily these days and we all know that means they will blow up over seemingly nothing.
I really cannot wait to see how crazy this one gets, I have high hopes seeing as Borat is an absolute gem of a character. This one releases in a couple of weeks, so the wait won’t be very long. I’ll be sure to make another post giving my opinion for the second coming of Borat once I’ve had time to watch all of it.
Where you can watch these movies for free when they release
This website has pretty much every new movie and tv show available to stream for free. As long as the movie has released in the last 6 months and the tv show has released in the last 3 months, you can watch without a VIP membership.
I’ve never paid for VIP myself, but it seems like a great deal if you don’t have any other streaming services. It only costs $15/month. Like I said before, you can watch plenty of things without a membership, such as the two films mentioned in this blog; as long as you watch things soon after they initially release.
More info on VIP below:
Thanks for checking out my blog!
Do either of these movies look good to you? What other films should I be looking out for to finish off 2020?
