Hello to everyone in this esteemed community. I am pleased to share the difficulties we sometimes experience when we are learning to do something for the first time, when we are studying a subject in High School, University, Educational or Training Center; or in a job where we have no experience.
I have always had to invest more time than others to learn something. It happened to me a lot when I was studying at the University. Since there were practical subjects that I considered to have a higher degree of difficulty.
You had to take good notes, study the lectures, research and practice. Many times I studied only with the notes and annotations in the notebook, but if I did not research, nor read in a timely manner, to fix what I had learned, things got complicated.
I had to make a great effort to remember what the teacher had said. This process, if I did it alone, took me longer.
At that time, I went to the library because I didn't have the books, let alone the money to buy them. Nor was I in the habit of reading the theories of some practical subjects. Like mathematics, for example.
As for this subject, I almost always studied it in a group. Between meetings and classes I dedicated myself to study and of course to share with my classmates.
We did the exercises from lesser to greater degree of difficulty. What happened to me was that if I did not complete most of the proposed exercises, I felt that I had not studied, which caused me insecurity and anxiety.
I tell you an anecdote of one of my classmates; he would come to the library and say: "...give him the more complicated exercises, he was not going to do the "easy" ones. Many times we used to laugh at him. He always had his things and he was very funny. My great friend, with whom I am still in touch today, is a great person who graduated as a civil engineer.
Regarding this point of the insecurity I experienced if I did not solve all the exercises of the subject, it was as if I had not studied. This was a very poor assessment. In short, the associated performance in relation to the time spent, was not good many times.
I learned a bit at the end of the course that you had to master the basic principles and try to apply them with some more representative exercises. I can say that this worked best for me.
Understanding the procedure, examples and exercises was what mattered most and I practiced just for the exam. It is important to note how wrong I was. I think that nowadays, that if we review the classes day by day it is easier to retain the contents and so not leave everything to the end.
I have to emphasize very specially, the fact of fear, fear or embarrassment to ask the teacher during the class about something that I did not understand of the subject that was being discussed. This happened to me almost throughout my entire career.
It could be insecurity, part of my personality, shyness, or all together. It probably is, but friends if you are studying and learning something, don't understand it, and find it too hard, don't stop saying it: I don't understand, please can you explain it to me again.
When this happened to me, the fact of not understanding and returning home with doubts and also if I did not immediately investigate, consult or read; in the end the doubts accumulated, which made learning difficult and of course the time and effort was greater.
I share with you that it was hard for me to understand and assimilate that we should not be left with doubts and that no one is born learned as the saying goes. And to understand that if we want to know something, we must look for the different means that technology offers us today. Let's take advantage of this great advantage.
I don't want to bother you any more with this topic, but there is something I want to share with you. A friend, a very wise man; told me one day: "if you want to be a specialist in something, spend an hour a day reading about it ". What I don't remember is how long hehe.
Among the aspects to highlight in my post, there are some tips, recommendations or aspects to keep in mind when we have difficulties and want to learn something.
🔶 Always read a lot about what we are learning.
🔶 Identify very well our weaknesses and strengths, including skills and talents.
🔶 Each person has his or her own learning pace and this should be accepted and respected by ourselves and by others.
🔶 We are people who write, observe, listen and talk to fix our learning. It is important to know whether we need one or a combination of two or more.
🔶 Don't procrastinate when you think you have too much time, putting off tasks and work. This is called procrastination. This last word I learned here at HIVE.
🔶 Don't forget to ask questions if you don't understand something. No question is dumb.
🔶 And last but not least; identify, know and apply learning tools that are available today. Which are necessary to reduce the difficulties when we are learning.
There are many things I learned when I was studying and some of them at the end of my career. On the one hand, to know my weaknesses, mistakes, study methods, to value time as an important resource, the value of friendship, responsibility and commitment not only with myself and my family but with a world that demands the best of us.
It is necessary to prepare ourselves, study and learn and apply all our knowledge, skills and talents to make a better world; and thus contribute to improve and eradicate the great evils that afflict us, such as: environmental pollution, natural disasters, epidemics and diseases without cure yet, shortage of food and water, among others, such as senseless wars.

Hola a todos en esta apreciada comunidad. Me complace compartir las dificultades que experimentamos algunas veces cuando estamos aprendiendo a hacer algo por primera vez, cuando estudiamos alguna materia en el Liceo, Universidad, Centro Educativo o de Formación; o en un trabajo a donde no tenemos ninguna experiencia.
Siempre he tenido que invertir más tiempo que otros para aprender algo. Me sucedía mucho cuando estudiaba en la Universidad. Ya que habían materias prácticas que consideraba que tenían un grado mayor de dificultad.
Había que hacer buenos apuntes, estudiar las clases, investigar y practicar. Muchas veces estudiaba solo con los apuntes y anotaciones del cuaderno, pero si no investigaba, ni leía en el tiempo oportuno; para fijar lo aprendido, las cosas se complicaban.
Había que hacer después un gran esfuerzo por recordar lo que había dicho el profesor. Este proceso, si lo realizaba sola era mayor el tiempo invertido.
En aquellos días, me dirigía a la biblioteca porque no contaba con los libros y mucho menos el dinero para comprarlos. Tampoco tenía la costumbre de leer las teorías en algunas materias prácticas. Como por ejemplo la matemática.
En lo concerniente a esta materia, casi siempre la estudiaba en grupo. Entre encuentros y charlas me dedicaba a estudiar y por supuesto compartir con mis compañeros de clases.
Hacíamos los ejercicios desde menor a mayor grado de dificultad. Lo que me sucedía era que si no realizaba la mayoría de los ejercicios propuestos, sentía que no había estudiado, lo cual me provocaba inseguridad y angustia.
Les comento una anécdota de unos de mis compañeros de estudio; que llegaba a la biblioteca y decía que:...le diera los ejercicios más complicados, que él no iba a realizar los "fáciles". Muchas veces nos reíamos de él. Siempre tenía sus cosas y era muy gracioso. Mi gran amigo; el cual estoy hoy en día en contacto con él, es una gran persona que se graduó de Ingeniero Civil.
Con respecto a este punto de la inseguridad que experimentaba si no resolvía todos los ejercicios del tema, era como si no hubiera estudiado. Esta fue muy mala apreciación. En definitiva, el rendimiento asociado en relación al tiempo dedicado, no fue bueno muchas veces.
Aprendí un poco al final de la carrera que había que dominar los principios básicos y tratar de aplicarlos con unos pocos ejercicios más representativos. Les cuento que así me funcionó mejor.
Entender el procedimiento, los ejemplos y ejercicios era lo que más importaba y practicaba solo para el examen. Es importante destacar lo equivocada que estaba. Pienso hoy en día, que si repasamos las clases día a día es más fácil retener los contenidos y así no dejar todo para el final.
Tengo que destacar muy especialmente, el hecho del temor, miedo o pena de preguntar al profesor durante la clase sobre algo que no entendía del tema que se estaba tratando. Esto me sucedió casi en toda mi carrera.
¿Será que era inseguridad, parte de mi personalidad, timidez o todas juntas?. Probablemente sí, pero amigos si estás estudiando y aprendiendo algo, no entiendes y te parece que es muy difícil, no dejes de decir:..No entiendo, por favor ¿Me puede explicar otra vez?.
Cuando esto me sucedía, el hecho de no entender e irme con las dudas a mi casa y además si no investigaba de inmediato, consultaba o leía; al final se acumulaban las dudas, que hacían más difícil el aprendizaje y por supuesto el tiempo y esfuerzo era mayor.
Les comparto que me costó mucho entender y asimilar que no debemos quedarnos con las dudas y que nadie nace aprendido como dice el dicho o refrán. Y entender que si queremos saber algo, debemos buscar los diferentes medios que hoy en día nos ofrece la tecnología. Aprovechemos esta gran ventaja.
No los quiero fastidiar más con este tema, pero hay algo que deseo compartir con ustedes. Un amigo, un señor muy sabio; me dijo un día: "si quieres ser especialista en algo, dedícale un hora diaria a leer sobre el tema". Lo que no recuerdo es por cuánto tiempo jeje.
Entre los aspectos a destacar en mi post, están unos tips, recomendaciones o aspectos a considerar cuando tenemos dificultades y queremos aprender algo.
🔶 Siempre hay que leer mucho acerca de lo que estamos aprendiendo.
🔶 Identificar muy bien nuestras debilidades y fortalezas, incluyendo habilidades y talentos.
🔶 Cada persona tiene su ritmo de aprendizaje y eso debe ser aceptado y respetado por nosotros mismos y los demás.
🔶 Habemos personas que escribimos, vemos, escuchamos y hablamos para fijar nuestro aprendizaje. Es importante saber si necesitamos uno o la combinación de dos o más.
🔶 No dejar para lo último cuando crees que dispones de mucho tiempo, aplazando las tareas y trabajos. Eso se llama Procastinar. Esta última palabra la aprendí aquí en HIVE.
🔶 No te olvides de preguntar si no entiendes algo. Ninguna pregunta es tonta.
🔶 Y por último y no menos importante; identificar, conocer y aplicar herramientas de aprendizaje que se disponen hoy en día. Las cuales son necesarias para disminuir las dificultades cuando estamos aprendiendo.
Son muchas las cosas que aprendí cuando estudiaba y algunas de ellas al final de mi carrera. Por un lado, a conocer mis debilidades, errores, métodos de estudio, a valorar el tiempo como recurso importante, el valor de la amistad, responsabilidad y compromiso no solo conmigo misma y mi familia sino con un mundo que reclama lo mejor de nosotros.
Es necesario prepararnos, estudiar y aprender y aplicar todos nuestros conocimientos, habilidades y talentos para hacer un mundo mejor; y así contribuir en mejorar y erradicar los grandes males que más nos aquejan, cómo por ejemplo: la contaminación ambiental, desastres naturales, epidemias y enfermedades sin cura todavía, escacez de alimentos y agua, entre otros, como las guerras sin sentido.
