Hi friends, this time I'm back with another installment of #LEARNANANDEARN, a contest made by friend @Jizzyjoe. Last week I told you about some of the things I had learned during the week in which I completed one-month-on-Hive. This week, thanks to the selfless work of some users, I learned something interesting about security and NFTs. The topic of security is quite extensive, so I will list the things I learned this week.

Phishing in HIVE

This is not a method of stealing accounts unknown to me. When I was studying computer science, I learned how to do these things and even went so far as to do a couple of tests that showed me that, indeed, this works. Of course, I did it among friends, stealing their passwords under their consent, just to experiment and understand a little bit the way some were able to get the passwords of our social networks, like facebook or twitter, the existing ones at that time. Although at the time I learned how to do it, I always condemned the activity and considered it as something detestable that infringes on people's freedom and privacy. In short, something that causes a lot of harm to those who suffer from it.

I recently read a post by friend @Ylich, a quite complete one where he explains how the theft of Hive accounts occurs. He told us about a case of a user who was a victim of this kind of obnoxious activity. I was not surprised that this happened here, since it is something very common in various digital portals, such as bank portals or social networks, for example. Even so, in the mentioned post, different ways to avoid this are explained, such as monitoring the links of the pages, the use of keychain or hivesigner, among other methods.

The use of our keys in Hive

Another important point mentioned in the post by @Ylich is the use of keys in Hive. I was interested in the topic, so I kept researching and found some pretty comprehensive information from other users, such as the following post from friend @victoriabsb . In both publications something is said in a very direct way, do not use the master key to log in. Some people still do it despite having so much information on the subject, but I echo those publications for you to read them and understand a little better what each password should be used for, how to recover them, among other things. Both of them are more experienced users, their experience is worth so it is better to listen to them.

Both are quite complete posts, so I invite you all to read them, in case you are interested in this topic of account theft in Hive, the use of keys and how to protect your account.

Solidarity

I am going to consider this as a learning experience because it is something we should all learn and teach: solidarity. Previously I touched on issues such as account theft, something that I consider detestable. Think for a moment about the quality of people that those who do these things must be; I am not trying to judge, since everyone will have their own motivations, but from the beginning this type of behavior is condemnable, where you appropriate something that someone else worked for, so I still maintain my position and consider it a detestable activity and says a lot about the kind of person who is the author of such thefts. Now, it is not good to make mention only of the account thefts that occur at Hive.

It is good to make mention of the work that many caring users do to simply create a good environment for all of us to feel comfortable in the community. One post comes to mind of a young woman who did not lose her account, but was the victim of a theft on the platform; she received the necessary help and managed to recover her account (too bad I couldn't find the post). Many communities here seek to provide support to others without any interest, such as the @discovery-it community, which on more than one occasion has helped many users selflessly; also @theterminal, whose staff spends day after day to provide the best support to new and experienced users, come on, even the most experienced have doubts.

Another more recent show of solidarity on the platform was the initiative by @miriannalis, in support of a friend of the community. Initiatives like this say a lot about the community and shows that there are more good people than bad. We must learn to be supportive and, of course, teach others to be supportive too.

Plagiarism in Hive

Another delicate topic, and one that causes a lot of controversy, is plagiarism. This week I was reading a publication by friend @Adalger, where he explains very well how to avoid plagiarism, defining well the concept of plagiarism and the correct way to support our publications, besides the proper use of tags, a topic in which many of us fail from time to time. I highly recommend reading this publication, to avoid major problems.

NFT

At the beginning I said I would talk about this topic, but the truth is that there is a lot of information from Hive about it and this is not a topic where I should explain something that others have already explained, so I will simply mention another publication I was reading and it helped me to understand the topic in question. Why was I researching NFTs? Well, because I can enter this little world with my art and turn it into NFT. Any artist who wants to research the subject, here is the link for you to get documented.

Hola amigos, en esta ocasión vuelvo con otra entrega de #LEARNANDEARN, un concurso hecho por la amiga @Jizzyjoe. La semana pasada les comenté algunas de las cosas que había aprendido durante la semana en la que cumplí un mes en Hive. Esta semana, gracias a la desinteresada labor de algunos usuarios, aprendí algo interesante acerca de la seguridad y los NFT. El tema de la seguridad es bastante extenso, así que iré enumerando las cosas que aprendí esta semana.

Phishing en HIVE

Este no es un método de robar cuentas desconocido para mí. Cuando estudiaba informática, aprendí a hacer estas cosas e incluso llegué a hacer un par de pruebas que me mostraron que, en efecto, esto funciona. Claro, lo hice entre amigos, robando sus contraseñas bajo su consentimiento, solamente para experimentar y entender un poco la manera en cómo algunos eran capaces de obtener la contraseñas de nuestras redes sociales, como facebook o twitter, las existentes en aquella época. Aunque en su momento aprendí a hacerlo, siempre condené la actividad y la consideré como algo detestable que atenta contra la libertad y privacidad de las personas. En definitiva, algo que causa mucho daño a quien lo sufre.

Hace poco leí un post del amigo @Ylich, uno bastante completo en donde explica cómo ocurre el robo de las cuentas de Hive. Nos comentó un caso de un usuario que fue víctima de este tipo de actividades detestables. No me sorprendió que esto ocurriese acá, ya que es algo muy común en los diversos portales digitales, como portales de bancos o redes sociales, por ejemplo. Aún así, en el post mencionado, se explica distintas maneras de evitar esto, como vigilar los enlaces de las páginas, el uso de keychain o hivesigner, entre otros métodos.

El uso de nuestras claves en Hive

Otro punto importante mencionado en el post de @Ylich es el uso de las claves en Hive. Me interesó el tema, así que seguí investigando y encontré información bastante completa de parte de otros usuarios, como el siguiente post de la amiga @victoriabsb . En ambas publicaciones se dice algo de manera muy directa, no usar la clave maestra para loguearse. Habrá quien aún lo hace a pesar de tener tanta información respecto al tema, pero hago eco de aquellas publicaciones para que las lean y entiendan un poco mejor para qué se debe usar cada clave, cómo recuperarlas, entre otras cosas. Los dos son usuarios más experimentados, su experiencia vale así que mejor hacerles caso.

Ambos son post bastante completos, así que los invito a todos a leerlos, en caso de que estén interesados en este tema del robo de cuentas en Hive, el uso de claves y cómo proteger su cuenta.

Solidaridad

Esto lo voy a considerar como un aprendizaje porque es algo que todos debemos aprender y enseñar: la solidaridad. Anteriormente toqué temas como el robo de cuentas, algo que considero detestable. Piensen por un instante en la calidad de personas que deben ser los que hacen estas cosas; no busco juzgar, ya que cada quien tendrá sus motivaciones, pero de entrada es condenable este tipo de conducta en donde te apropias de algo por lo que otro trabajó, así que aún mantengo mi postura y considero que es una actividad detestable y dice mucho de la clase de persona que es el autor de dichos robos. Ahora bien, no es bueno hacer mención solo de los robos de cuentas que ocurren en Hive.

Es bueno hacer mención de la tarea que muchos usuarios bondadosos hacen para simplemente crear un buena ambiente para que todos nos sintamos cómodos en la comunidad. Me viene a la mente, una publicación de una joven que no perdió su cuenta, pero sí fue víctima de un robo en la plataforma; recibió la ayuda necesaria y logró recuperar la cuenta (lástima que no logré encontrar la publicación). Muchas comunidades acá buscan prestar apoyo a otros sin ningún interés, tal como la comunidad discovery-it, que en más de una ocasión ha ayudado de manera desinteresada a muchos usuarios; también @theterminal, cuyo staff se gasta día tras día para prestar el mejor soporte a usuarios nuevos como experimentados, vamos, que hasta los más experimentados tienen dudas.

Otra muestra de solidaridad más reciente en la plataforma fue la iniciativa de @miriannalis, en apoyo a una amiga de la comunidad. Iniciativas así dicen mucho de la comunidad y muestra que hay más personas buenas que malas. Hay que aprender a ser solidario y como no, enseñar a otros a que también lo sean.

Plagio en Hive

Otro tema delicado y que causa mucha polémica, es el plagio. Esta semana estuve leyendo una publicación del amigo @Adalger, donde explica muy bien cómo evitar el plagio, definiendo bien el concepto de plagio y la manera correcta de soportar nuestras publicaciones, además del uso adecuado de tags, un tema en el que muchos fallamos de vez en cuando. Recomiendo mucho la lectura de esta publicación, para evitarnos problemas mayores.

NFT

Al principio dije que hablaría de este tema, pero lo cierto es que hay mucha información de Hive al respecto y este no es un tema en donde deba explicar algo que ya otros han explicado, así que simplemente haré mención de otra publicación que estuve leyendo y me ayudó a entender el tema en cuestión. ¿Por qué estuve investigando los NFT? Bueno, porque puedo entrar en este mundillo con mi arte y convertirla en NFT. Todo aquel artista que desee investigar sobre el tema, aquí tiene el enlace para que se documente.

Bien amigos, esto ha sido todo lo que he aprendido esta semana. Estoy seguro que he aprendido más cosas, pero siempre se escapan y es difícil recordarlas todas, así que esto será todo por ahora. Me gustaría dar gracias a la amiga @Jizzyjoe por el concurso. Como siempre digo, muy práctico para aquellos que tenemos mala memoria.
