... Me? Set a new goal and start working toward it.
Normally, my go-to topics are always travel, food, restaurant review, etc. But I don't know how to keep writing about those while Extensive Social Distancing is taking place, and I haven't been anywhere but bedroom, kitchen and WC for almost a month. It is so tired and boring when keep using old photos and writing about some excursions that I no longer remember precisely.
So I start thinking of something new and better to do. And I decided to study English in a serious way (which I have never done before) and to take a test of International English Language Testing System (IELTS) next year (which I never thought I would). For the expected IELTS band, I will keep it for myself and won't share it here. ^^. It is not urgent for me, so I will just do it little by little and enjoy the learning process as much as I can.
I also found the way to balance my learning and my blog on Hive, by posting my "homework" here. Actually it is not homework. It is just like... I try to do 2 IELTS tests per week, and I will post what I prepare for Speaking test (part 2) and Writing test here. As such, I can share with Hive my process (which someone maybe interested in), also keep my blog being active and still focus on my goal. Kind of killing THREE birds with one stone. Yay.
From now onward, you may find on my blog a series of "IELTS with me". And if you are having the same goal like me, I would love to follow your journey to achieve it, too. And you also can help me by leaving comment in my posts to correct grammar mistakes (if any) or share anything that can make my English better. I will really appreciate.
Hope you all stay safe and sound and please share with me what you have been doing amid Covid-19 outbreak.
The topic of today is about movie, and below is what I prepared for Speaking test Part 2.
"Describe a film/movie you would like to share with your friends."
I don't know if you guys have paid attention on the Academy Awards lately, you probably know that the Best Picture Award went to a Korean movie named Parasite.
I watched it in movie cinema in last July after it won the highest prize in Cannes Film Festival. In that time, the movie really went viral, hit the headlines and became the talk of the town. I went to see it with a friend and we needed to book tickets several days in advance as it was sold out real quick.
The movie lived up to all my expectation and it’s undoubtedly worthy of all the prestigious awards. The story was about a poor family cunningly found their way into a wealthy house to work there. All problem started in the house and between the host, the poor family and the basement-dwellers. Somehow, every character in the movie was parasite and not able to live as independent individuals and it eventually led to a extremely tragic ending. The movie had numerous plot twists and many layers of meaning. It left me with thoughts and took me a few days to process to fully understand all the metaphor being used in the movie, and have an insight on what the movie was really about.
The movie absolutely knocked out of the park to became the very first foreign language movie to win the Best Picture Awards in history of Oscar. For all that, I would highly recommend not just my friend but everyone to go to see this excellent movie.
