The Diablo Immortal game itself will be taken from the story in the Diablo II series: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III which occurred in 1270 where the story taken is the post-destruction story of Worldstone by Archangel Tyrael.
Even though the Worldstone has been destroyed, the fragments of the Worldstone still bring damage and calamities that actually make havoc to the entire Sanctuary, this is also used by Skarn, for those who don't know Skarn is a demon who was once Diablo's strongest lieutenant, he is also known as the Herald of Terror , Skarn tries to collect the pieces from the Worldstone and tries to revive his master, Diablo, and tries to continue the eternal conflict between Angels and Devils.
