HIVE gives quite a bit and that gift takes many different forms. For some, it's a way to blow off some steam (pun intended!). For others, HIVE is a place to work on blockchain development.
Some see it as a place to reward others through curation and hope their efforts return a reward in kind.
People game here. They share struggles, successes, life losses and new lives that have entered the world.
I've seen communities build up and grow that offer true brick and mortar resources to people in the material world.
All this is true and I believe I'm leaving out so much more...
One thing HIVE can be for all of us, though many may not yet realize it, is a time capsule!!!
Another manner in which we as loving individuals can make use of HIVE is to share our works with family. Especially during a time when we may not be able to see family as much as we would like, the ability to share your blog is an incredibly useful tool.
A Time Capsule Called HIVE
Last Christmas my Old Man departed from his usual cash gift and made all his kids a flash drive with all our old videos from growing up.
It got me thinking. Many of the articles I post are about everyday life. I post about our bird, the garden, a new car, new residence, and things like that. So that makes HIVE my own time capsule.
Because so much of my writing and photography surrounds my family, it's also a time capsule for them.
Like my father who handed down those memories, the kids are the ones who will really appreciate it later on in life.
You don't have to have kids to value HIVE as a record of life events either. We all have a family of some sort and there are surely some younger ones growing up behind you.
Keep Family In The Know With HIVE!!!
What brought this special feature of HIVE to mind was my sister Dawn. She started sharing some of those videos my dad sent us yesterday on a group text message.
Dawn has a way of knowing that I've haven't done something that I should have already done. My father's dad (Grandpa) is in one of the videos and it helps to remember what he looks like. It's been so long since he passed.
And that got me thinking as well. What better way to share your life with family and friends than send them a link to your blog? It's almost a duh moment, but us guys aren't always quick to pick up on these kinds of things.
Many fellow Hiveians are probably already sharing their blog. Of those who aren't, you may have good reason. But if you're already blogging about your life, why not share those moments with those who care about you.
It may be one of the most powerful actions you could take while not knowing how others are dealing with this world situation.
I filled in both sisters, my mother, and my father this morning. It was an easy text message to send.
"Hi Mom. I've been writing a blog much of which documents our daily life.
Go to Peakd.com. Search for username inalittlewhile. That's me.
If you ever want to check and see what's going on with us, that's a good place to see it. I take a lot of pictures and add them in".
That's pretty easy isn't it.
Now I'm not suggesting your HIVE sharing should take away from any regular phone calls you make to your loved ones. It's probably best to keep those up.
What are your thoughts on HIVE as a time capsule or journal to share with loved ones?
Speak up in the comments. I'd like to hear about how HIVE gives to others in your life.
