Nos acercamos al día de Navidad y el ambiente ya se ha llenado de esa alegría y festividad tan bonita que nos abriga en estos tiempos.

We are approaching Christmas Day and the atmosphere has already been filled with that joy and festivity so beautiful that shelters us in these times.

Decorando el árbol de Navidad. || Decorating the Christmas tree.

En mi casa tenemos un árbol de Navidad desde hace un tiempo pero en años pasados no lo habíamos podido decorar por falta de adornos, ya que los que habían estaban desgatados y teníamos que comprar adornos nuevos.

In my house we have had a Christmas tree for some time but in past years we had not been able to decorate it because of lack of decorations, as those that had been worn out and we had to buy new ones.

This year we decided that it was time to buy the new ornaments and finally decorate the tree, so we did and good news! This year there will be a Christmas tree at my house.

Casi siempre la tarea de decorar tanto el árbol como la casa recae sobre mi, ya que a mi mamá estas cosas no se le dan muy bien; este año no fue la excepción así que me tocó solo a mi decorar el árbol y la fachada de mi casa.

Almost always the task of decorating both the tree and the house falls on me, since my mom is not very good at these things; this year was not the exception so it was my turn to decorate the tree and the front of my house.

I started by dusting the tree and giving it some touches because some of its parts were damaged by being kept for so long. Finally with the retouches it was very good, so I assembled it and established it in the room next to that wall decorated with stones with which I think it makes a nice contrast.

Todo lo hice, o bueno, lo hicimos, en una tarde donde colocamos música en la radio que para estas fechas tienen mucha programación con gaitas, parrandas y aguinaldos, música tradicional navideña venezolana. Con este ambiente navideño transcurrió la tarde.

I did it all, or well, we did it, in an afternoon where we put music on the radio that for these dates has a lot of programming with bagpipes, parrandas and aguinaldos, traditional Venezuelan Christmas music. The afternoon was spent in this Christmas atmosphere.

La tarea de mi mamá y su pareja era la de “supervisar” y tomar fotos para el recuerdo, ellos me indicaban cuando un adorno estaba mal colocado o no se apreciaba bien. Poco a poco el árbol fue tomando forma “gracias a las indicaciones de mi madre” según ella misma; ya casi terminaba y solo quedaba encender las luces.

The task of my mother and her partner was to "supervise" and take pictures for the memory, they indicated to me when an ornament was badly placed or not well appreciated. Little by little the tree took shape "thanks to my mother's indications" according to her; it was almost finished and all that was left was to turn on the lights.

Luego pasé a las coronas que son un poco más trabajosas en mi opinión, pero nada que no se pueda hacer con buena disposición, después de todo la Navidad es una época que me encanta, que me recuerda mi infancia y que trae la alegría y la unión de mi familia y todas las demás.

Then I moved on to the wreaths which are a little more laborious in my opinion, but nothing that can't be done with good disposition. After all, Christmas is a time that I love, that reminds me of my childhood and that brings joy and unity to my family and all the others.

We finished the afternoon by lighting the tree and the rest of the decorations, we were delighted with our work because of the beautiful result.
