To walk up to Maju Junction, a mall in the middle of a very busy part of the city and feel like Alice in Borderland!! Zombies could have jumped out from around the corner as we walked up and down this building trying to figure a way in. But honestly, we were the Zombies, walking around helplessly clueless!
Alice in Borderland: A group of bored delinquents are transported to a parallel wasteland as part of a survival game.
In a nutshell according to imdb

Shutters down, glass doors locked, windows marked "X", restaurant chairs piled up on tables. The place was empty!! We were so confused, we had to step away from the building to check for the name just in case we were at the wrong place.
What's going on? Where was everybody? How do we get in? We had something very important to do! Get to the Pension Office to sort out some documents. My friend's mother, a pensioner, is currently admitted to the hospital with old age complications, she is 90 years old. My friend needs the Pension Officer to change the scheme of receiving the pension so it is deposited directly into Mother's account without needing Mother to show up at the bank. Let's just say, it's complicated.
Finally, we walked up to someone who looked like security and found out that the mall had closed for good, and all tenants were no longer in the building. "That explains why no one was answering my calls!" my friend huffed.
So, we sat down in a corner and googled. We called the number that popped up and was greeted by the automated voice that reads you numbers and corresponding actions and then tells you that "...all lines are busy, please hold".
After a good while, someone got on the phone and thank goodness he was very helpful. He walked my friend through the things that needed to be done to change the pension scheme, told her where to look on the website for the forms and which forms to download to fill.
It was funny when she told him he didn't have to speak so slow. That the only reason she was repeating the things he was saying was so that her friend, that would be me, could scribble the details down😂🤣😂. So at least that ended kind of well. Kind of, because it will take one to two months for the change.
Anyways, the Pension Office is now at Cyber Jaya which is about an hour away. Maju Junction was really convenient because there are many ways to get there by public transport.
I am still in semi-shock that a mall can just shut down. It wasn't the most "happening" mall but still, quite a few Government Offices were stationed there. I had even attended a friend's marriage registration here and then to a nice lunch at one of the restaurants many years ago.
The only constant, is change, right? And with this Covid Hullabaloo, the changes have been coming hard like those balls from a tennis ball machine.
Just for the record, today, the area I live in marked the highest numbers of positive cases in Kuala Lumpur. And with that-
