The more I pay attention to the study of Psychology and Humanities, the more it becomes fairly obvious that I'm one of those that edges towards high sensitivity. Yeah, I'm a highly sensitive person and I've severally collapsed under the weight of my sensitivity.
To be fair, there were clues and hints which have been there for a very long period. I just couldn't make head or tail of what it entailed until I started making effort to be more self-aware. I'm also high in things like empathy and disagreeableness, and I believe all these have to do with how my mind works.
At the moment, I can say that my journey towards self-awareness has been very rewarding. I still can't tell how much of my action is a consequence of how my mind works, but I'm sure that my mind is an interesting part of my existence. It's fascinating to the point that I get really uncomfortable and fairly disturbed whenever I feel like my mind is stressed out.
This is partly why I try as much as possible to always be in a sound mind. Being someone that works in the creative industry makes it an even bigger reason for me to try and be in the right state of mind. I see that as a precautionary strategy and it has been very helpful in keeping me mentally ready to face each day.
Making effort to know what it takes for me to always be in the right state of mind is an exercise I'm willing to do continuously. Like I said in a previous article; resting, taking a walk and listening to music, always help.
What about you? Are you interested in self-awareness? What do you do to always be in sound mind? Feel free to share yours in the comment section.
