There is a serious question to be asked of people that spend their time in places like Discord - answering other people's questions, giving guidance to people and assisting in any way they can.
Where on Earth do these people get the energy to do these?
Haha.
The first time I ever heard of anything called discord was in June 2020. For someone that was trapped in a world where posting pictures on Whatsapp and Facebook was the order of the day, getting into Discord, content creation, web3 and Cryptocurrency as a whole was something I didn't prepare for. I just happened to discuss with the right person at the right time and this dude introduced me to the right place where I met the right people... and so on.
The very first discord channel I joined after being introduced to the world of content creation had me ask myself serious questions about my chances of excelling in that space. The channel was very busy and the chatrooms were buzzing. I got a couple of tags from members in different chatrooms but I didn't/couldn't reply to anyone. Partly because I was lost in a new world and also because everything about Discord felt super strange. I was also using a phone that had insensitive areas on its screen but let's not blame the innocent toy.
After that first time getting into discord, I turned my back on it until after 3 weeks. This time around, I was ready to take baby steps and explore everything about the App. Thankfully, I met very nice people on the channel. My first contacts were Pakistanis and getting to know more about these sets of people changed the perception I had about them.
It was just a matter of time before I got to meet more people on the channel. Fabulous people from different parts of the world. I learnt so much from them and...
...it amazed me how everyone was always ready to help and offer suggestions whenever I or any other person in the channel needed guidance.
Most of the things I know today about interacting with people, writing and being part of a project that works are because of my activity on Discord channels. After my early days onboard and all the help and assistance I got from people, I thought of how nice it would be to also be able to do the same for others.
I'm allowed to dream, ain't I?
The good thing about discord, just like most places, is that you don't need a role as a mod or any role at all in a channel before you can help or assist anyone. All it takes is to check into the rooms, have a chat when time permits, offer guidance/suggestions when you see the need to do so and just do all these with genuine intent to make things easier for those on the receiving end.
Since I'm in a Discord channel that had to do with content Creators and crypto enthusiasts, I understood there is a need to be in the know before I can help explain things to someone. That was how I got into the habit of researching anything and everything that can be helpful to those I interact with. It's funny how I learned about trading so that I can help answer questions people have about it. The knowledge have helped me in running $ to # exchanges for some Nigerians on the chain.
The same thing was applicable when people in our server moved from Uptrennd to Readcash, Hive and co. I got into these places and learned stuff about the workings of the sites. Now, every day of my life is filled with answering questions and assisting people on discord.
The first discord channel I joined was formerly called Tiger Trennd. Did you click the link? Lol! That's what is currently known as DreemPort's discord channel.
Haha. I also have a private discord channel of my own and I'm in a total of 23 Discord Channels after exiting 12 irrelevant ones while writing this post, yet any question about my favourite discord channel will surely be a no-brainer.
Every day, all day... You can be sure to get my attention on DreemPort's Discord Channel.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma
