For some time now, I have noticed how life has been moving at an unstoppable speed. Everything around me seems to be in constant motion: work, social networks, daily commitments... and I have learned to adapt to this accelerated pace. My mind and body have become so accustomed to being always active that when it's time to rest, I get a strange feeling.
I keep commenting that time goes by very fast to the point that Rest has become for me a bit of Boredom. In my vacations or moments of pause, instead of enjoying the stillness, I find myself inventing activities or justifying my restlessness by saying that I am bored. It's as if my body and mind don't know how to be still. I find quietness almost uncomfortable because my natural pace has become so fast that I don't know what to do when there is nothing urgent to attend to.
I have realized that this constant speed is not necessarily bad for me; on the contrary, it keeps me active and focused. However, I also realize that I need to learn to slow down without guilt or anxiety. Finding moments of serenity is not only a luxury but a necessity to take care of my emotional and mental well-being.
The most valuable thing I have learned is to be kind to myself during this process. It is not always easy to change such ingrained habits, but I know that finding my own rhythm is fundamental to live more fully and calmly. Everyone has their own way of living the fast-paced world, and this is mine: learning to balance the energy of movement with the peace of rest.
