Today I dare to write something completely different despite the criticism that are receiving those who are sharing this. I want to tell you about the experiments implemented on animals and what we can do together to minimize this cruelty. Please, be aware.

Hoy me atrevo a escribir algo completamente diferente a pesar de todas las críticas que están recibiendo las personas que están compartiendo esto. Quiero hablarles sobre los experimentos realizados en animales y qué podemos hacer todos unidos para minimizar esta crueldad. Por favor, estén atentos.

This morning I saw a video that went viral on instagram created by Humane Society International called Save Ralph, which is about a cosmetic testing bunny who shows with resignation all about the cruelty that he and his friends are subjected daily on those laboratories. Here is the video:

Esta mañana me topé con un video que se viralizó en instagram realizado por Humane Society International llamado Save Ralph (Salva a Ralph), que se trata de un conejo de pruebas cosméticas que nos enseña con total resignación la crueldad a la que son sometidos él y sus compañeros diariamente. Comparto con ustedes el video:

Of course the video got my tears out, specially because I felt myself completely guilty for being part of this since due to my inexcusable ignorance I thought that this experiments were part of the past when the fact is that I have been supporting this because the products I have used all my life are tested on animals, and how is possible that within my egoism those thoughts never came to my mind?

Por supuesto que el video me sacó unas lágrimas, especialmente porque sentí una inmensa culpa por formar parte esto, pues en mi imperdonable ignorancia yo pensaba que estas prácticas ya eran parte del pasado cuando la realidad es que estoy apoyando esto porque muchos de los productos que he consumido toda mi vida son testados en animales, y ¿cómo es posible que dentro de mi egoísmo ni siquiera se me ocurriera?

These tests are specially implemented in rats, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, monkeys and more animal. These tests consist in watching the product reaction on organs or areas in which the chemicals are directly applied, such as the skin, the mouth, eyes, ears and so on, there are even chemicals which are applied intravenously or intramuscularly.

Estás pruebas se realizan especialmente en ratas, ratones, conejos, conejillos de india, gallinas, monos, y muchos más, solo que estos forman parte de la mayoría. Dichas pruebas consisten en observar la reacción del producto en los órganos y las zonas en las que les aplican los químicos directamente, como la piel, los ojos, la boca, los oídos, etc. e incluso llegan a aplicarles estos por vía intravenosa o intramuscular.

Realizing this is still happening in 2021 (yes, I am ignorant for thinking that it was no longer happened) it just makes me wondering when the humans started believing that we are the owners of the world and why are we willing to destroy everything just for our comfort, because this is not even something really necessary.

Enterarme de que esto sigue sucediendo en 2021 (sí, soy una ignorante por pensar que ya no pasaba) solo me hace preguntarme en qué momento los humanos comenzamos a creernos los dueños del mundo y por qué estamos dispuestos a destruirlo todo para nuestra comodidad, porque ni siquiera es para nuestra necesidad.

I do not want to be part of this anymore, but I have to be honest, actually neither of us can stop contributing to animal abuse or environmental destruction 100% because unfortunately the world we live in works like this before we were born and just the fact of existing and being part of this as humans makes us indirect guilty and the damage is inevitable. But if we can at least start bit by bit changing some of our habits this could provoke big changes in future generations, and this is why I wrote this post, because there is a way to make these experiments stop.

Yo ya no quiero seguir participando en esto, pero siendo sincera, realmente ninguno de nosotros puede dejar de contribuir en el maltrato animal o ambiental al 100% porque lastimosamente el mundo en el que vivimos ya funciona de una manera desde antes de que naciéramos y solo el hecho de existir y ser parte de este como humanos nos hace cómplices indirectos y el daño es inevitable. Pero si podemos al menos comenzar poco a poco cambiando algunos hábitos esto podría significar grandes cambios en las futuras generaciones, y es por eso que hice este post, porque existe una forma de lograr que al menos estos experimentos con animales ya no existan.

Anyway these seals have not arrived to all countries or brands, so some of them just specify that its products are vegans. There are even brands which do not use these seals, but this does not mean that they are not cruelty free, so here is when the second step takes part:

There are some free apps that we can use to verify the origin of these products just by scanning the barcode:

These are some ways that can help to decrease animal cruelty. Of course there are hundreds of things we should also stop doing, and saying that we never do anything that affect animals or the environment would be hypocrite, but we can start with this small actions, is it worth more than nothing. I have seen some criticism to people who are sharing this, so I repeat it again, there are many things about our daily life that exist due to human or animal exploitation, or contamination, but we can not erase them immediately, some of them depend directly from the actions of important governments, but if we can try to decrease one of many things that are wrong then we are doing something at least for the moment, I am sure that through small steps we will achieve big changes someday.

Estas son algunas de las maneras en las que podemos ayudar a reducir la crueldad animal. Por supuesto existen miles de cosas que deberíamos dejar de hacer, y sería hipócrita decir que no hacemos absolutamente nada que afecte a los animales o al ambiente, pero sí podemos empezar con estas pequeñas acciones, más vale esto que nada. He visto muchas críticas hacia las personas que estamos compartiendo esto, y es aquí donde repito, muchas cosas de nuestra vida cotidiana son producto de explotación humana o animal o de contaminación, pero no nos podemos deshacer de muchas de la noche a la mañana y que ya dependen más de los grandes gobiernos que de nosotros, pero si podemos intentar disminuir una de tantas cosas malas por los momentos, ¿está mal? al menos estamos intentando hacer algo, estoy segura que por medio de pasos pequeños podremos ir logrando cambios.
