I was in a bit of a hurry between lunch and shopping at the hypermarket. I think the time pressure will ultimately prove to be a good thing because it teaches me to be efficient. After I parked my car and entered the station, I remembered to check which platform the train would arrive.
I hurried through the cafeteria towards platform four.
The engine is rear first because turning in Heinola was impossible.
The train has stopped and passengers are getting off.
I shot a video with my DSLR but a number of things went wrong, which is why I won't publish it. The first mistake was forgetting to set the camera on manual focus. As a result, the camera kept re-focusing every few seconds which affected image quality and the auto-focus motor sound turned out to be quite disturbing. I need some practice.
But I would say that in most situations the videos I've made using my iPhone 7 have turned out surprisingly good. I have quite steady hands.
But I did get a few decent pictures.
This is a snapshot of the video where the focus is right.
Then I walked to the front end of the train.
The starting point of the journey. Every stop has to have a name and Salpausselkä is where the ski stadium is and where the train left yesterday morning and where it spent the night between the two round trips to Heinola yesterday and the one today. After this stop at Lahti railway station, the train left for Hyvinkää where it is kept in a depot between the tours it does around the country mainly at weekends.
The conductors spontaneously offered to pose for me.
