I would like to show you an afternoon that represents the kind of winter I'm really hoping for. Last winter was a real bummer because it was so warm. The only thing I liked about it were the lower than normal heating bills. No persistent snow cover to speak of but still cold and also darker than usual because of the lack of snow. But the winter of 2018/2019 was different. These images were taken on January 29 2019. I went cross-country skiing that Sunday afternoon.

I just came back from cross-country skiing. It was -16 C, calm and sunny as you can see. It was late afternoon when I started and the sun was setting when I finished. I just processed the images to be published in this post.
I was going slowly and had the camera strap around my neck. Lugging around the camera is impractical. My phone has been malfunctioning slightly in recent weeks. I may have to replace it soon. I might want to buy a phone with a much better camera and better camera software to be able to take better quality photos in situations like this.
Any recommendations?
