Hola a todos, cómo se encuentran? Mi familia y yo teníamos un viaje planeado desde hace varios meses, pero hoy por cuestiones de la vida y de muy mala suerte, nos tocó vivir una experiencia muy horrible, pues cerca de la pista del aeropuerto Camilo Daza de la ciudad de Cúcuta, explotaron dos bombas en un ataque terrorista, poco menos de una hora antes de que nuestro vuelo saliera.
Hello everyone, how are you? My family and I had a trip planned for several months, but today due to life issues and very bad luck, we had to live a very horrible experience, because near the Camilo Daza airport runway in the city of Cúcuta, they exploded two bombs in a terrorist attack, just under an hour before our flight left.
Tal cual como había hecho unos meses atrás, quería comentar y hacer un pequeño post acerca de mi vuelo, pero justo cuando estaba desayunando, la sala de espera se estremeció luego de una explosión a poco metros de donde estábamos, llenando el ambiente de mucha ansiedad y miedo, pues una hora atrás había sucedido otra explosión que fue subestimada por la reacción de las fuerzas de seguridad.
Just as I had done a few months ago, I wanted to comment and make a small post about my flight, but just when I was having breakfast, the waiting room shook after an explosion a few meters from Sunday we were, filling the atmosphere with great anxiety and fear, because an hour ago another explosion had occurred that was underestimated by the reaction of the security forces.
Muchos nos acercamos a la ventana de la sala de abordaje, mirando hacia donde estaban los aviones, pudiéndose divisar no muy lejos una zona de donde se desprendía mucho humo, al igual que muchos oficiales de la policía alrededor de la zona, pero nadie sabía nada. Incluso luego de la primera explosión, se corrió el rumor que había sido posterior a una explosión de una bombona de gas.
Many of us approached the window of the boarding room, looking towards where the planes were, being able to see not far away an area where a lot of smoke was emitted, like many police officers around the area, but nobody knew anything . Even after the first explosion, a rumor spread that it had been after a gas cylinder explosion.
Después de algunos minutos de incertidumbre, empezaron a desalojar el aeropuerto, desde la sala de abordaje hasta llegar al nivel de planta baja, aunque de forma progresiva y tranquila, para no alterar a la gente.
After a few minutes of uncertainty, they began to vacate the airport, from the boarding hall to the ground floor level, albeit gradually and calmly, so as not to disturb people.
Una vez ya afuera del aeropuerto, unos empezaron a tomar taxis e irse, mientras otros como nosotros nos quedamos esperando un poco para ver qué había sucedido, pues al tener una conexión y ya hoteles cuadrados y demás, necesitábamos una respuesta ante la pasividad y secretismo de las autoridades.
Once outside the airport, some began to take taxis and leave, while others like us waited a bit to see what had happened, because having a connection and already square hotels and others, we needed an answer to the passivity and secrecy from the authorities.
Pero con el pasar de los minutos y el arribo de más oficiales de seguridad nos dimos cuenta de que algo malo había sucedido, pues hasta los helicópteros estaban reconociendo los aledaños al aeropuerto.
But as the minutes passed and the arrival of more security officers, we realized that something bad had happened, because even the helicopters were recognizing the surroundings of the airport.
Por las redes sociales, familiares y amigos fueron los que nos notificaron de que estaba pasando, confirmando las peores noticias un sollozo lejano, pues una de las familiares de uno de los oficiales fallecidos llegó al lugar.
Through social networks, family and friends were the ones who notified us that it was happening, confirming the worst news a distant sob, as one of the relatives of one of the deceased officers arrived at the scene.
Resulta que intentaron colocar varias bombas dentro del aeropuerto, buscando hacer un atentado contra el gobernador de la localidad, que viajó pocos minutos antes de la primera detonación. En esta explosión murió uno de los terroristas.
It turns out that they tried to place several bombs inside the airport, seeking to make an attack against the governor of the town, who traveled a few minutes before the first detonation. In this explosion, one of the terrorists died.
Esto alertó a las autoridades, y cuando lograron identificar otra bomba y estaban en labores de desactivarla, está explotó arrebatando la vida a dos policías.
This alerted the authorities, and when they managed to identify another bomb and were in the process of deactivating it, it exploded, taking the lives of two policemen.
Por cuestiones de seguridad nos mandaron a desalojar el aeropuerto, teniendo que caminar desde allí hasta la entrada principal, pues obviamente no podían dejar ingresar ningún otro vehículo a las instalaciones.
For security reasons they sent us to vacate the airport, having to walk from there to the main entrance, since obviously they could not allow any other vehicle to enter the facilities.
Ya afuera, solo dejaban acercarse a taxis de la línea del aeropuerto y con identificación previa, por lo que nos fuimos de allí, viendo a los alrededores múltiples cámaras y reporteros.
Outside, only taxis from the airport line and with prior identification were allowed to approach, so we left there, looking around multiple cameras and reporters.
Poco más que esto se sabe por los momentos, ahora estamos de nuevo en el hotel esperando qué pasará, pues la aerolínea aún no nos ha dado respuesta de nada, dejándonos hasta sin maletas, ya que estábamos a pocos minutos de empezar el abordaje de nuestro avión.
Little more than this is known at the moment, now we are back in the hotel waiting for what will happen, because the airline has not yet given us an answer to anything, leaving us even without suitcases, since we were just minutes from starting the boarding of our airplane.
Por suerte nada nos pasó físicamente, ya que la parte psicológica es más difícil de valorar, más aún cuando buscas un descanso de todas las cosas malas que suceden en tu país y vives algo así.
Luckily nothing happened to us physically, since the psychological part is more difficult to assess, even more so when you are looking for a break from all the bad things that happen in your country and you experience something like that.
