Above all, because there are many people being trained in the same occupation, cooks, bartenders, waiters, baristas; and added to this there are currently fewer job vacancies due to the situation of the Covid. So it is necessary to ensure a good resumé that guarantees the coveted call for an interview.
Los ejemplos que voy a dar a continuación, son del ámbito de hotelería en su mayoría, pero ilustran perfectamente los errores más comunes que se deben corregir. Antes de avanzar debo decir que mi madre es Licenciada en relaciones industriales, desde hace más de 30 años de forma continua, y gracias a ella aprendí muchos de los puntos importantes que se evalúa en una empresa, al momento de seleccionar a su personal, y son estrategias que yo he usado también para seleccionar a las personas que trabajan conmigo.
The examples I am going to give below are mostly from the hotel industry, but they perfectly illustrate the most common mistakes that need to be corrected. Before going any further I must say that my mother has been a graduate in human resources, for over 30 years on a continuous basis, and thanks to her I learned many of the important points that are evaluated in a company when selecting its personnel, and they are strategies that I have also used to select the people who work with me.

El modelo puede ser sencillo, van a conseguir muchos estilos por internet, lo importante es que permita mostrar su información de forma ordenada y clara. El inicio de todo currículo debe contener su información básica de contacto y su foto.

This is a quick example of a simple curriculum model, the first thing that stands out is the full name, marital status, address and phone numbers. In this section you will see that in addition to my number, I keep an additional number to contact my mother, in case you cannot reach me. This is important because it shows that I am interested, I want to be contacted, it can also be a home number, a number of your wife or husband in case you live in marriage.
He visto casos de personas que no colocan ningún número telefónico, porque les robaron el teléfono, o simplemente no tienen, porque no les gusta, y esto es un gran punto negativo. La empresa para la que trabajes va a necesitar comunicarse contigo, y si tienes una profesión de servicio sabes que es necesario en muchas ocasiones ir a trabajar en horarios especiales, o por situaciones exclusivas de cada profesión. Así que no tener teléfono, ni de un vecino para que se comuniquen contigo, muestra un total desinterés por ser encontrado.

So not having a phone, or a neighbor to communicate with you, shows a total lack of interest in being found.
Otro punto muy importante es la Fotografía, esto transmite mucho a la persona que está revisando tu información. En el caso de la hotelería las damas deben tener el cabello siempre recogido, sin escotes profundos, con un maquillaje suave y zarcillos discretos. Y para los caballeros el cabello debe estar corto, sin pendientes, y deben estar rasurados. (En el caso particular de la hotelería estos son estándares básicos, y demostrar que usted ya los domina, y respeta es muy importante para la empresa. Un rostro despejado transmite confianza, limpieza, y da seguridad).
Un tip interesante, es buscar la empresa por goole , esto te puede dar una idea de que tipo de imagen buscan proyectar.
Another very important point is the Photography, this transmits a lot to the person who is reviewing your information. In the case of hotels, ladies should always have their hair tied back, without deep necklines, with soft make-up and discreet earrings. And for men the hair must be short, without earrings, and they must be shaved. (In the particular case of the hotel industry these are basic standards, and showing that you already master them, and respect them is very important for the company. A clear face conveys confidence, cleanliness, and gives security).
An interesting tip, is to search the company by google, this can give you an idea of what kind of image they are looking to convey.

An important point about the photo is that it should be a formal photo, it should be noted that it was taken for the job search occasion, and not a photo that I cut out from somewhere, the photo should also be as recent as possible in order to represent you today. A photo cut out from anywhere, or too small to distinguish your face, is almost as bad as no photo at all.

I have seen and received resumes without photos, it is very difficult to call those numbers, it generates some distrust, and with 80 candidates with photos it is evident who will be called first. I have also had cases of people using photos from 15 years ago. If the person who is reviewing their resume sees that the age does not correspond with the photograph it will look like a hoax. Imagine that you are called for an interview and it turns out that the photo you sent is from when you were 20 and an athlete, and at the moment you are 50 and you have left the exercise a long time ago, you will already see the negative impact this has on the interviewer.
