Hello HIVERS 👋! On today's #bloogingchallenge update, the topic is 20 Facts About Me, and so without much a do, let's jump right in.

Who am I?
Name: Peter Njoroge.
Developer Name: peete_rx.
HIVE pseudo name: my_musings.
Where I am from: Nairobi, Kenya.
What do I currently do?
So currently I am a Junior Student, at a local University taking Computer Science.
What is my personality type?
According to Myers Briggs test I am an INFJ:
I: Introvert.
N: Introverted Intuition.
F: Extroverted Feeling.
J: Judging.
What do I love doing during my free time?
😂Sleeping.
What is my type of comedy?
Anything full of sarcasm and dark humour.
What are my hobbies?
- Reading books, anything from fantasy, sci-fi, non-fiction, historical, basically anything that is well written. Books have been one of my greatest practice of escapism.
- Design and building cool & random projects I find interesting when browsing the net.
- Reading poetry.
- Of course writing.
- Listening to music 🎶
What is my favourite dish?
I have none. 🤦♂️😂I am yet to find that dish.
What are my struggles?
For a while I was deep in depression, had issues with low self-esteem, struggled with nihilism. I am in a much better place right now, and despite the days past having been somewhat dark, I love the insights about myself the experiences gave me.
Through the pain I learned more about myself, the silver lining.
I still struggle with self-esteem and sometimes anxiety but I have mechanisms in place to help me navigate through such times.
What are the practices I have integrated in my life to help with my struggles?
I do regular meditation, which greatly helps in lessening anxiety and helps in keeping me more anchored in the present moment.
I also journal a lot, no matter the time of the day, if something plagues my mind and I have a hard time making sense of it, I find it helpful putting it down on a paper.
I also recently incorporated some light weight exercises into my morning routine which help me in feeling good and also reduce fatigue from prolonged hours spent sitting down staring on a screen.
What is the practice I would love to incorporate but am yet to?
While going through hard times, many find it helpful to share with friends or close family members. Talking to others about my problems is something I find really hard to do no matter how much the other has entrusted me with. I guess am still too cynical.
Who are my mentors?
My cousin inspires me the most.
I also look up to many 20th Century thinkers who's insights despite time having passed are still relevant and applicable and have helped in changing my perspectives and view of the world.
In tech and science world in general, I look up to people such as the late Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Lex Fridman, Andrew Huberman...
In photography and arts, I look up to Platon, Peter Mckinnon, the late Mary Ellen Mark, Chris Burkard... Just to name a few of the people who are great source of inspiration for me.
What would I love to improve on?
Get better at integrating reflective personality traits and still be productive, rather than only being reflective and then procrastinating taking action.
What do I crave the most?
Attaining a full transcendence over myself, or rather the self. But being in constant search of that goal being total self awareness only leads to me being further from the goal, so what I have learned is to give everything my best and continuously improve.
What is my favourite colour?
😂Black. It is very simple but also sophisticated.
What is an assumption people have about me?
For anyone who I am close and comfortable with, many assume am an actually an outgoing person. But in reality I prefer keeping much to myself and just enjoying solitude which I know many find scary and can't afford to entertain that idea of being alone
What is my strength?
I think it is being able to see people for who they really are and being able to relate and really understand where many of those who share with me are coming from.
What do I not like about myself?
Being a people pleaser. For the longest part of my life I always considered other people's needs before my own, long story short it resulted into lots of self hate for not being able to say no and simply stand for myself.
What do I find most scary?
The thought of thinking that I really know but I actually don't - Ignorance but with no conscious awareness of it.
What am I comfortable with many find scary?
Being called different, being called crazy, being called a weirdo.
What matters the most?
Living rather than just merely existing. A life unfortunately led by the masses.
Okay that got deep really quick. 😂 I am learning to embrace who I really am and I would not consider myself a person comfortable with the shallow waters, what I find intriguing are rather the deep waters, which many are of course scared of, I have no problem with anyone being a deep or shallow person, we are all different and fully embracing who we really are enables us to navigate and lead more meaningful lives. Being true to ourselves no matter the difference in the tune to the music we are all dancing to. The beauty in life!
