Antonis at Cup Code Cafe and Bar- Nissi Ave, Ayia Napa
He arrived in Cyprus this week from Germany - to the heatwave and highest recorded temperatures ever in Cyprus.
Antonis has a hired car so he drove to Ayia Napa today and explored a little of Larnaca on the way home.
He very kindly took photographs of his day trip and gave me permission to use them in the blog.
He is here in Cyprus to attend the University of Limassol to complete his Masters Degree.
School starting dates have been delayed by a week due to the extreme heat so not sure if he will be starting on Monday or the following week when schools open.
When he came home we went off to the beach for a swim and came home when it was dark. The water was so warm it was not really refreshing and the short walk home made us both very hot again.
I will need to have a cold shower before I try to sleep tonight. I feel like I'm melting in this heat,
Slightly cooler weather is predicted for next week. September is usually the best month in Cyprus (April is also a good month - but we were in lockdown then)
Despite the heat, Antonis is already happy here in Cyprus. I hope his University experience will be all that he dreams it to be.
