With Eden, Jack and Les
Reading @paracat this morning writing about the roast lamb in the fourno. Well I can't beat that from my apartment but I made two delicious dinners in my slow cooker and enjoyed company of both my sons and their wives.

With the thought the lockdown in Cyprus and with @samstonehill talking about a possible long lockdown of up to a year in France, I decided to have both my sons with their wives over for dinner - just before lockdown.
Although I had them on separate nights, to enjoy their company and have some "one on one" time, I made life pretty easy for myself. Actually the ease comes with having a slow cooker, which should be a part of every kitchen.
I went to the supermarket and bought 1 kilo of Australian Beef and asked the butcher to cut it in half for me.
I fried 8 onions in olive oil with some leeks and carrots. Removing from the pan I seared both halves of meat until sealed on all sides. One half I put in the slow cooker and the other I stored in a container in the fridge.
Added half the onions, leeks and carrots to the slow cooker and the other with the other half of meat. Thus, my preparation for both meals was complete.
For the next evening's meal, I added one half of a small bottle of Rose wine into the pot with 2 chicken stock cubes. Left this to cook for 7 hours and then thickened with some flour.
The following morning at 10am, I just added all ingredients from the container into the slow cooker and 7 hours later thickened the sauce and 8 hours later served a delicious meal. Only difference is this time I added a cup of red Merlot wine instead of the Rose wine and it was delicious.
Thanks to my son Jack (@deimus) I have some of his beautiful photographs which I use with his permission. We're all pretty good photographers in the family but his photographs are really excellent.
Slow cooker meals - make life so easy
Roast - done to perfection
Thank you Jack for the food photos - Photograph of Lee and Katia was taken by me and I can't remember who took the group photograph - probably Lee - thanks guys.
Two successful dinners done and dusted with hardly any effort.
