Today, I want to share about my blog on my shell—my favorite place to relax whenever I feel so sad. It’s a spot that gives me comfort and peace. And as you can see, my username is Pearlyshell, because just like a shell, I find safety and quiet inside, where I can rest and heal from the worries of the world.
So now, I will show you some pictures from the times I came here. I have many pictures, but sadly, the phone I used for documentation is gone. I only have these four left from the many times I visited the Shell in Compostela—a hidden gem.
First of all, I used to come here every time I felt sad because this place gave me peace and helped me forget my worries, even just for a while. Sitting in my favorite shell spot in Compostela, I could hear the waves, feel the gentle breeze, and watch the quiet sea, which always made my heart lighter. It became my secret comfort place, where I could cry, smile, or simply breathe until I felt strong enough to face the world again.
So now, let’s start talking about my story here in this hidden shell in Compo, and I will also show you some pictures.
FIRST
Today I sat in my favorite shell café. The lights were very aesthetic, and I felt like a rich tita who goes to coffee shops just to show off her outfit. I looked outside the window and pretended I was in a music video. I was thinking about all my problems, but then I remembered I was hungry, so I stopped being dramatic. 😆 I took this photo so I can remember that even when I’m sad, this place makes me feel fancy.
I went outside to see the sunset. The sky was so beautiful, with orange and purple colors mixing together like cotton candy. I stood there for a long time, just watching the waves move slowly. It felt like the world paused just for me. I told myself, “Wow, I’m the main character today!” 🌅 But then a mosquito bit me, and the magic was gone.
I went inside the restroom and took a mirror selfie. The restroom was very clean and the lights were soft. They made my face look fresh even if I was feeling tired. I looked at myself and said, “Who is this pretty girl?” Then I laughed because it was just me, trying to feel confident. Mirror selfies are my favorite because they show my silly side too!
I sat in the café again, acting like a model. I fixed my hair so many times because it kept going everywhere like it was dancing. I imagined myself in a shampoo commercial, flipping my hair in slow motion. But in real life, my hair was messy and my face was serious because I was trying not to laugh at myself.
I tried to do a shy pose, hiding part of my face with my hand. I felt like a Korean drama actress who just saw her crush pass by. My heart beat fast even if there was no crush, only my reflection in the window. I almost wanted to giggle at myself for being so dramatic.
SECOND
I took another mirror selfie! I love the mirrors here because they make me feel cute even when I feel down. I told myself, “Smile, girl! You are strong and beautiful!” I think mirrors are magic—they remind me to be kind to myself even on bad days.
I posed outside at night. The lights around the café were so pretty like stars had fallen from the sky just for me. I pretended I was on a fancy date, but actually, I was just spending time with myself. I felt happy because I realized I don’t need anyone else to make my night special.
I sat with my friend, and we both tried to look serious for the photo. But after two seconds, we couldn’t stop laughing. We talked about silly things and old memories. I always feel better when I’m with her because we understand each other and laugh at the same jokes like comedy queens.
I stood by the window, leaning a bit and looking outside at the dark sea. I thought about my dreams and the things I want to do in life. I felt a bit sad because some dreams are still far, but I told myself that it’s okay to take one step at a time. I smiled for the photo because even if life is hard sometimes, I know I will always have moments like this to remind me that I am strong.
I posed on the balcony near the sea. The wind was cold, and the waves were quiet. I felt like the world was giving me a hug. I looked at the ocean and thought, “You are so big, but I am brave!” I felt proud of myself for going out even when I was sad, because sometimes the best thing to do is to just breathe and look at something beautiful.
THIRD
I came here to this place for the first time because we had a tour guiding presentation in school. I felt very nervous because I needed to memorize a very long script. My mind was so full and my heart was beating fast, so I decided to come here first to relax myself. I sat down, listened to the waves, and took deep breaths. This place helped me calm down and made me feel ready to face my school presentation. I told myself, “You can do it, just like the strong waves in the sea.
FOURTH
There was another event in school, and I felt stressed again. So I came here first, because this is my place to breathe. When I sit here, I feel safe and my mind becomes clear. It’s like this place gives me new energy before I go back to school. I told myself, “No matter what happens at the event, I am okay because I have this place to make me strong.
As I look back on all these moments in my favorite shell, I feel so thankful for this place that always welcomes me with peace. It’s more than just a café or a seaside spot—it’s my secret hideaway where I can cry, smile, think, and dream. No matter how heavy my heart feels, I know I can always come here to breathe and feel strong again. This hidden shell in Compostela is not just part of my story, but part of who I am.
