This is the post to go with @tattoodjay's #wednesdaywalk fun challenge.
Location: St.Petersburg, Russia.
This time images were taken just with my iphon 4 camera!
The current situation does not encourage the reckless active use of public transport, no way. It’s better to stay at home. But it’s even more better to walk, breathe in the fresh air, saturate yourself with oxygen and increase your immunity (which is especially beneficial, bearing in mind this very situation).
I could say, "...and that's why I went for a walk". But that would not be true ... I didn’t even take the camera with me - I just had some business (I made a visit to my osteopath doctor). But the entire backward trip from the city center to my suburb area, I walked on foot, avoiding public transport. Happily, I had the sun as my companion.
And here is what I can share ...
The Moscow Triumph Gates (1838) is one of my fave subjects to shoot. A special fun is to find a new angle / point of view each time.
I confess to you, I rarely stopped at this building to take a closer look -- more often I pass it by cycling, or by bus. This is an old Soviet wagon-building plant. Of course, it do not produce any cars currently; the only thing it does, is renting its real estate to other enterprises ...
The front door is decorated with these medals and orders, which the plant was awarded during the Soviet era. They look so vintage and sympatico... I decided I have to come there with a dedicated macro lens to take a good shots of it.
Passing one of the yards, I saw a visible and intense signs of the spring-already-have-come.
I stopped and slipped the yard and enjoyed the visions of green.
And there I discovered another (new to me) type of a ready-made cardboard folded bird-feeder -- very sympatico! The children leaving in this yard do care about our feathered friends.
I am adding one more pic as a bonus, for the @elizacheng #makemesmile challenge -- I bet you cannot stop a little smile looking at this photo!
