Hello friends, today I am going to tell you about an experience that I have lived, I have participated for the first time in a social protest for a very good cause.
Hola amigos hoy voy a contarles una experiencia que he vivido, he participado por primera vez en una protesta social por una muy buena causa.
Last year, at the beginning of the pandemic, the president decreed preventive and compulsory social isolation, in which all citizens had to stay in our homes and only "essential workers" had to work, and also decreed a law so that companies and employers did not they can fire their employees who would not attend work. This law was in force until June of this year 2021 but the term was finally extended until December of the year 2021. But is this law being complied with? Well, in some cases, no.
El año pasado al comienzo de la pandemia el presidente decretó el aislamiento social preventivo y obligatorio, en el cual todos los ciudadanos debiamos quedarnos en nuestras casas y solo debian trabajar los "trabajadores esenciales" y ademas decretó una ley para que las empresas y empleadores no puedan despedir a sus empleados que no asistirian a trabajar. Ésta ley tenia vigencia hasta junio de éste año 2021 pero finalmente se extendió el plazo hasta diciembre del año 2021. Pero ¿esta ley se está cumpliendo? pues en unos casos, no.
We began the day by meeting all the militants of the Partido Obrero together with the delegates of each area to organize how the protest would be carried out. And we all left together by public transport to the headquarters of the electric energy company, one of the main ones in Buenos Aires, where about 100 illegal dismissals were made.
Comenzamos la jornada reuniendonos todos los militantes del Partido Obrero junto con los delegados de cada zona para organizar como se haria la protesta. Y partimos todos juntos en transporte publico hacia la sede de la empresa de energia electrica, una de las principales de Buenos Aires, donde se realizaron unos 100 despidos de manera ilegal.
We concentrated at the door of the company and together with the victims and their families, with fanfare and a lot of noise, we demanded immediate reinstatement or a monetary offer greater than that offered, since they offered only 100,000 pesos, which corresponds to two salaries. of those employees! a shame, they were left on the street illegally and on top of that they pretended to be satisfied with crumbs. An employee cannot feed his family with that sum and it is really a very difficult task to get another job in a pandemic, so they were literally left in the worst possible situation.
Nos concentramos en la puerta de la empresa y junto a los damnificados y sus familias, con bombos y mucho ruido reclamamos la inmediata reincorporacion o una oferta monetaria mayor a la ofrecida, ya que ofrecian tan solo 100 mil pesos, lo que corresponde a dos sueldos de esos empleados! una verguenza, los dejaron en la calle de manera ilegal y encima pretendian conformarlos con migajas. Un empleado no puede alimentar a su familia con esa suma y es realmente una tarea muy dificil conseguir otro empleo en pandemia, asi que literalmente los dejaron en la peor situacion posible.
After a long day making noise, a representative of the company approached to speak with the former employees and offered them a much higher sum than that initially presented, some families accepted the deal accordingly. But others simply wanted their jobs back! so we remain steadfast to get an answer.
Despues de una larga jornada haciendo ruido un representante de la empresa se acercó a hablar con los ex empleados y les ofreció una suma mucho mas superior a la presentada inicialmente, algunas familias aceptaron el trato conformemente. Pero otros simplemente querian recuperar sus puestos de trabajo! asi que seguimos firmes para conseguir una respuesta.
The day ended with no response but we agreed to return until they provide a solution and a response as appropriate to the situation. And I end the post with a reflection, this was my first time getting involved in this way in a fight. I really left with a lot of helplessness for not having achieved the goal, but happy for having participated in this. Perhaps my presence did not add much to the struggle, but having been present helped me a lot in understanding that there are many battles against injustices that are constantly being carried out against workers, and it is very important as a member of society to be of that side, to help. And don't get trampled! because companies would be nothing without their employees.
La jornada finalizó sin respuesta pero quedamos en volver hasta que den una solucion y una respuesta como corresponde ante la situacion planteada. Y finalizo el post con una reflexion, ésta fue mi primera vez involucrandome de ésta manera en una lucha. Realmente me fui con mucha impotencia por no haber logrado el objetivo, pero feliz por haber participado de ésto. Quizá mi presencia no le sumó mucho a la lucha, pero haber estado presente me sirvió mucho a mí en entender que hay muchas batallas contra injusticias que estan llevandose a cabo constantemente contra los trabajadores, y es muy importante como miembro de la sociedad estar de ese lado, para ayudar. Y no dejarse pisotear! porque las empresas no serian nada sin sus empleados.
