This is a question I often ponder about from different viewpoints, as we continue to redefine what's 'possible'.
I think in a literal sense, anything may not be possible because there are limitations that we may not be able to solve. For example, physics will beg to differ, no matter how much we willed to fly to Mars on a spacecraft in just a few weeks. These are fundamental laws or principles that seem impossible to bend.
But the dreamer in me sometimes ponder about how today's science fiction can become tomorrow's reality. Who knows, maybe teleportation is just a few quantum leaps away, making it possible to teleport from Earth to distance planets on a shorter timescale.
However, in a figurative sense, the answer becomes affirmative although it is not strictly absolute. Life is a labyrinth and we can get stuck somewhere along the way without knowing where to go next. In such cases, anything is possible.
When Life Throws You A Curveball
Even in the darkest corners of the labyrinth, a spark of possibility can be ignited. It can be the courage to face our fears, the resilience to bounce back from setbacks, or the audacity to dream bigger than ever before.
And if we expand it outwards to the other side of the spectrum, then there's also the possibility of not facing our fears or not bouncing back from life setbacks.
Whatever it may be, this spark of possibility can lead us into a different trajectory. In that sense and at that juncture, anything is really possible, be it to get better, to get worse or even to more or less stay the same.
For the most part, it depends on the individual to decide which trajectory to take.
Although external factors can influence that decision, I think having the belief or knowing that anything is possible can help us gravitate towards choosing to get better than to get worse, as the former is more empowering and inherently desirable.
In my own life, I've found that when I 'believe' anything is possible, I tend to open myself up to unexpected opportunities, serendipity, and moments when the seemingly impossible seems to wink at me, daring me to explore beyond the possible.
Maybe it's not about achieving the literal impossible(for now), but about embracing the endless possibilities that life holds when we dare to believe, especially in moments when we seem to get stuck with nowhere else to go.
