When it comes to how we process information and interact with people, our minds are naturally inclined to make assumptions.
These assumptions are often based on past experiences and help us make quick decisions. But when these assumptions are wrong, they can lead to disastrous outcomes.
An assumption is something that you believe to be true despite the lack of evidence. For example, if you are a quiet or shy person, others may mistake you for rude.
This example that I have sighted is actually from my life. I was shy in high school and basically kept to myself, and some of my classmates who never even spoke to me assumed I was a snob.
Assuming leads to a negative thought pattern. We all make assumptions from time to time, but when it becomes a habit, rather than asking questions, we develop a negative mindset. We become more relaxed and never mature as individuals. Assumptions may devastate friendships, relationships, and many other parts of our life.
Someone said it right :
“When you assume, you make an ASS out of U and ME”
