Hello my fellow food hivers....in todays food preparation blog, i am going to be sharing with you all the recipe to preparing and enjoying a fried sweet Potatoe meal, i am also sharing with you the health benefits of sweet potatoes and the different other dishes and supplement that can be made from And enjoyed with sweet potatoes .......
First of all sweet potatoes is a root crop, which i have known ever since i was little.. the specie we have in Nigeria is usually grown in the nothern part of Nigerian. The two most popular ways i enjoyed a sweet potato meal while growing up was “fried” especially for breakfast and “boiled” mostly during dinner time, and it is a meal i have continuously had ov er the years ...”but i got so sick just one time my mum made it constantly for like one year straight during the pandemic” rolls eye

The types Sweet potatoes i have come to realize overtime differ in various different countries and even in mine (Nigeria)“although it is almost impossible to tell the difference of the sweet potatoes in Nigeria when it seems like all are the same”, but whenever i come along with my mother to go buy groceries she is always able to tell which is which....that why i say “almost impossible” because i feel only experts are able to tell the difference....the only way you know is when you purchase three different batches on three different occasions and it tastes different or look different as you peel it... i must mention that it is just another of rear foods that is GlOBALLY INCLUSIVE with a wide range of countries ...that is “A type of food that is universal or inter-continental but may just differ in color ,taste or size”
Having researched sweet potatoes on the INTERNET pre-writing this blog i learnt about a couple of the health benefits of sweet potatoes ,and here they go...
•study has shown that sweet potatoes controls blood sugar levels in individual reduces occurrence of low blood sugar level and regulate sugar level in patients suffering from diabetes
•sweet potatoes has been said to help fight cancer cells because of its anthocyanin in the vegetable
•sweet potatoes helps to manage or prevent gastric ulcerations by reducing inflammation around gastrointestinal tissue
•sweet potatoes is high in antioxidants and vitamins like magnesium which has shown to reduce stress anxiety manage depression and post traumatic defect
•it supports great vision
•it generally improve immune system
Now moving on to the most popular way sweet potatoes is prepared where i come from “Nigeria” i am going to show you the steps you take when looking to to prepare fried sweet potatoes
Ingredients. Utensils
Sweet potatoes Knife of FRUIT PEEL
Salt. Bowl
Cooking oil or any
e.g groundnut oil or other type of cooking oil
•step for preparation
For this tutorial i used the general wild CELEBIUM sweet availabile in Nigeria....
•peel the sweet potatoes using an knige or FRUIT PEELER, the quantity you peel is dependent on how many serving you are preparing p.s potatoes is very fiiling as it has a high constituent of moisture and is a root crop
•after peeling...slice them to your preferred shape and wash them throughly
•after washing you want to salt them “a little”not too much, “this also depends on each individuals standing
insalt intake”and by so stating sprinkle some salt on them and use your finger to flip them repeatedly every slice is well salted
•now get-ready your pan and pour some cooking oil into it go ahed to heat the oil for 5minutes while adding a pinch of salt to it
•now add the potatoes slices into the oil and leave to fry.....after about five minutes of frying It should look like the second picture in the gridded picture above
After 15 minutes ,it should be done but this depends on the type of potatoes you are preparing “just be sure to check a slice before you drain and remove from the heat
The look after draining from the oil should have be of yellowish-butter color if you are using a CELEBIM SPECIE POTATO like me again “this depends on the specie of the potatoes you are preparing ”

And after all meal is ready ...by this stage you can choose to use any supplements with this meal, in the picture below i used a boiled tomato stew “which i am also going to show you all recipe for preparation in my next post..comment if you would like me to share”
