Yo muy bien, con muchas ganas de contarles que, en jueves de esta semana que ya pasó, en mi uni hicieron un evento donde premiarían a todos los estudiantes con notas destacables. Yo, por segundo año consecutivo, me llamaron para que asistiera y darme uno de los reconocimientos. Sin más, quiero contarles un poco de este día y más o menos cómo me fue.

I am very well, I am eager to tell you that, on Thursday of this week that has already passed, my university held an event where they would award all the students with outstanding grades. For the second year in a row, they called me to attend and give me one of the awards. Without further ado, I want to tell you a little bit about this day and more or less how it went.
Evento universitario
Una semana antes me llegó un correo con el aviso de este evento, donde te invitaban a ti y a otro grupo de personas también de mi universidad a un pequeño evento donde recibirían este reconocimiento. El evento era a las 8am, y yo, junto a una amiga a la que también le habían mandado el mismo correo, decidimos ir un poco después de la hora, ya que este tipo de eventos siempre se retrasan.
A week before I received an email with the notice of this event, where they invited you and another group of people also from my university to a small event where they would receive this recognition. The event was at 8am, and I, along with a friend who had also been sent the same email, decided to go a little after the time, as these types of events are always delayed.
Me vestí la verdad muy normal, sin pensar mucho en qué ponerme, ya que tampoco tenía mucho tiempo. Luego de llegar al lugar, buscamos unas sillas y decidimos sentarnos a esperar que comenzara. Desde las 8:30 que llegamos, terminaron empezando a dar los premios a las 11 más o menos, ya que hubo muchos seminarios y discursos por parte de algunos expositores, los que la verdad estuvieron bastante aburridos, ya que hablaban de temas que no tenían nada que ver con el evento.
I dressed very normally, without thinking much about what to wear, since I didn't have much time either. After arriving at the place, we looked for some chairs and decided to sit down and wait for the show to start. Since we arrived at 8:30, they ended up giving out the awards at 11 or so, since there were many seminars and speeches by some exhibitors, which were really quite boring, since they talked about topics that had nothing to do with the event.
A la hora de dar los reconocimientos, empezaron a ordenarnos en una especie de fila que no entendí. Me pusieron a mí de penúltima y la verdad es que no entendí la razón. Empecé a pensar que pude haber quedado con mal promedio, pero al final entendí que realmente fue todo lo contrario.
When it was time to give the acknowledgements, they started to order us in a kind of line that I didn't understand. They put me second to last and the truth is that I didn't understand the reason. I started to think that I might have had a bad average, but in the end I understood that it was really the opposite.
Todos iban pasando menos yo y otra chica, y la verdad me estaba preocupando. Al final nombraron los últimos 3 premiados, que eran los que habían tenido mejor promedio en toda la facultad de odontología, y yo quedé exactamente en segundo lugar. La verdad es que me puso muy feliz, ya que no me esperaba para nada una nota tan buena como para ser el segundo promedio de la universidad.
Everyone was passing except me and another girl, and the truth was worrying me. At the end they named the last 3 winners, who were the ones with the best average in the whole dental school, and I was exactly in second place. The truth is that it made me very happy, because I did not expect such a good grade to be the second average of the university.
Luego de esto, nos regalaron unos helados a los premiados, y decidí irme con mi amiga para otro lugar, buscando tomarnos algunas fotos para pasárselas a nuevas familias. Este día fue realmente muy lindo y me hizo feliz recibir este reconocimiento por segunda vez. Espero lograr obtenerlo todos los años que esté en la universidad. El evento estuvo chévere pero algo lento y tardado
After this, they gave us some ice cream to the winners, and I decided to go with my friend to another place, looking to take some pictures to pass them on to new families. This day was really nice and I was very happy to receive this award for the second time. I hope to get it every year that I am in college. The event was cool but a bit slow and late.
