Good day everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. There are great benefits for dressing well in public and there is a kind of self satisfaction that comes with it. There is a popular saying that "clothes make the man". The type of clothes that you wear is a pointer to the type of person you are even from a first meeting. Your choice of dress can speak volume about your type of person. Sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.
Sometimes last month, on a rush-hour morning when I was heading to work. I was in this public transport with three other people and one of them is a woman (referred to as Mrs A, henceforth) seated in the front seat with the driver. If I'm not mistaken, the Mrs A is over fifty (50) years of age. As we were approaching a bus stop, there was a young lady that is trying to wave down another cab. She was dressed corporately, definitely going to an office but there was something that caught the attention of Mrs A. The young lady's breast were popping out so conspicuously in her camisole.

"Look at how she's dressed!", she exclaimed. She continues, "people don't check themselves in the mirror before leaving their houses again?" She continued lamenting and clapping her hands together in disgust on how a lady would leave her house dressed indecently. This ranting continued as we continued our trip. She made references to how it was when she was much younger. She stated that her parents would burn any skimpy or revealing dresses they bought due to youthful exuberances and how it became a part of them to dress decently.
In our world today, fashion is evolving and the trends that we follow is not as it was 30 or 50 years ago during the youthful age of our fathers and mothers. I'm not an advocate of indecent dressing but the kind of mentality our parent's generation had is what makes them see wrong in the latest trends today. For instance, in a typical disciplined African home, you'd be thoroughly scolded for dying your hair to colors such as gold, white etc, dreads is A capital NO, any lady that wears mini skirts is perceived as a whore and lots more.

Not to be judgmental or disrespect Mrs A, something caught my attention too when she alighted from the car. She was wearing a blouse and a leggings - a very tight leggings that a young lady would have been condemned for wearing. What came to my mind is a saying that "cast the first stone if you haven't sinned before (paraphrased)". I was expecting to see her in a buba and iro outfit and a gele with the way and manner she was publicly condemning this young lady.
What's your thoughts about this?
