Good day everyone. Welcome to my blog at this hour. Thank God it's Friday. T. G. I. F. Yes, it's that favorite day of the week again and we can not be less happy that the weekend is knocking. I have always said on this blog that the feeling that comes with Friday is always ecstatic and thrilling owing to the fact that you have time to attend to some personal events apart from work and you relax in whatever way delights you. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.
There's a saying that "Give honor to whom it is due". The indepth meaning of this saying is not understood by many people. There are times when we take certain things for granted. For instance, imagine there are not people that are readily available to fix your car when it break down in public (mechanics), or imagine that point in the day when you are very hungry and thirsty and you can easily sight a notice saying "FOOD IS READY", the feeling is amazing, right?. Moving forward, have you paid close attention to that young man or old woman that opens the door for you every time you resume at work or when you close for the day? Gatekeeper/Security Guards? Or even the cab driver, bike man etc that drives you to and fro everyday?
We often think people that serve us at one point or another do not deserve our respect or our "thank you", especially when we are superior to them. Come to think of it, imagine you do all these things for yourself - which is not even logically possible. That's the reason we have professionals and experts in different fields. You can't possibly want to fix your damaged car and know where to tweak if you are not in the field. You can not provide all the food items you need for your everyday consumption on your own without the assistance of vendors and market men and women.
All these people need to be appreciated for making life easier for us. Some people may argue that they are being paid for the service they rendered, so it doesn't warrant any form of appraisal. Look at it from this angle, would your money have done the service for you if these people are not available? The answer is a NO.
The major message I'm passing across is that treat everyone with respect and honor them no matter the kind of service they offer to you. Money is not everything. Little appreciation goes a long way to even further motivate them to serve you better another time.
