Hello everyone. Welcome to my blog at this hour. It's Saturday, the day most of us do not go to our official work place but still involve ourselves in one or two other forms of activities either in the house, on the farm, or even sports activities such as visiting the gym or going for outdoor sports activities and so on. The most common activities people also engage themselves with in Nigeria is attending parties, popularly known as Owanbe. Owanbe is any form of party such as birthday, wedding, housewarming party, store opening party and so on. Sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

In Nigeria, partyting is one of the activities people engage themselves with every Saturday. There is either one aunty doing her wedding ceremony or one friend doing his graduation ceremony and so on. Parties like this bring people together and it's a form of reunion for family and friends who haven't seen each other for a long time due to personal reasons. Wedding ceremony, for instance, brings different families together, that is, both from the hunsands side and wife's side. It's a form of get-together where people tend to catch up on old times.

Owanbe as it's popular called in Nigeria is a Yoruba word which can be literally interpreted as "it is happening there" simply means there is a lot of merriment and a lot of fun happening there in. On a typical Saturday morning in Nigeria, you'd see men and women, boys and girls, young and old wearing matching attires which is known as "asoebi" in their numbers. Asoebi is sort of family outfits in English. For instance, during a wedding ceremony, all the members of the family of husband including extended family members would wear matching outfits, members of the family of the wife will also do the same. This is in a bid to recognize the family each person belong to from a distance.
