Good morning everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. I believe you had a great night rest and I wish you a great day ahead. Markets is such an important part of our lives. It is a place where we get anything we want as far as we have the resources to purchase them. I'm sure a couple of people reading this right now can relate to how frustrating it is when you cannot get what you are looking for, especially when you have walked the whole length of the market several times. Sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.
Markets are a necessary part of our survival process. It is a place that offers you what you want, whenever you want it at a given price.
According to Wikipedia a market is a composition of systems, institutions, procedures, social relations or infrastructures whereby parties engage in exchange. While parties may exchange goods and services by barter, most markets rely on sellers offering their goods or services (including labour power) to buyers in exchange for money. It can be said that a market is the process by which the prices of goods and services are established.
There is this beautiful thing about most markets have been to in Nigeria. They are well organized and structured. There are different segments for each commodity. You cannot see a meat seller in a rice or beans sellers section. This means you need to first ask around for the section where the goods you want to buy is located, else you'd keep walking up and down without getting your goods quickly.
Market is a world on its own. No wonder each types of goods also have their associations in order to ensure that ethical standards are maintained and not taken for granted. I learnt there are orange sellers association, association of dry fish sellers, pepper sellers associations and so on. There is some level of organization among these market sellers even though some of them are not well educated.
