Pingganon Lake or commonly known as Lake Bensis is an old mining site that was turned into a park in the highlands of Toledo City, Cebu. The open mining pit was filled with rainwater through time after it was abandoned and turned into a verdant green lake. Before the place was opened to the public, only the campers and hikers would frequent the area and they wanted to keep it a secret. Words came out and the rest is history.
Hello Hiveians!
I will be starting to work again tomorrow after two months of staying at home due to COVID-19 and I have mixed emotions. On one hand I'm happy that I'll be working again and we have an exclusive transportation, but on the other, there's no assurance that you'll be safe because there's still no sign of flattening the curve here in the Philippines.
Anyway, let me share some panoramic shots in the highlands of Cebu that I took just a week before the lockdown. These were taken during my last hike and I can't wait to hike again.

That hike was one of my longest hikes at 27 kilometers, encompassing different barangays in the mountains of Cebu. I might share the experience in the upcoming posts so stay tuned.

Lake Bensis (the one in the thumbnail) was the ultimate destination of the hike and I can say that I underestimated the journey. Just imagine you're crossing two different cities through the mountains. We started in Cebu City early in the morning and ended up in Toledo City late in the afternoon.

It was a hot and humid day, just like most of the days here in the Philippines, but the cool breeze in the mountains offered relief. This was supposed to be one of our practice hikes in preparation for our major climb in Mt. Pulag, the third highest mountain in the Philippines. This was supposed to be last May if it was not cancelled. Turned out to be my last climb and I don't know when I could climb the mountains again.

This is just a short post. Just to calm my nerves as I anticipated of what might happen tomorrow when the government has started to ease some restrictions. Stay tuned for the full post about this one.
