Fantasy is an illusion with no base to the reality as it is a result of our imaginations. When we create something, a scenario or a world that is not true or not in existence, we are fantasizing.
Reality is the true existence of things with the prove that we can see, feel, hear and experience it.
Fantasizing allows us to create our world outside the reality. But let’s not forget that no matter how long we fantasize, the reality remains unchanged. So don’t dwell too long in your fantasy.

Fantasizing once a while is actually good for the mental health. Fantasizing is good as it helps;
- Relieve our stress.
- Relaxes the mind.
- Helps your sanity when going through a rough phase in life.
- Boost productivity; for example when given a difficult tax at work, you can imagine various ways to deliver the best yo can give.
As we all know too much of anything is not good, so continually dwelling in our fantasy can not only become detrimental to our mental health, it can also cloud our judgement of things.

Lets use Tim as an example, he knows that his relationship with Sandra is destroying him, but instead of calling it quit he begins to recall when the relationship was all green, leading him to create a perfect relationship with Sandra in his world of fantasy. Then due to his emotions in his fantasy, he concludes that Sandra is going to change and everything would become better if he endures more. He then continues to suffer more emotional pain until he comes to the realization that it’s all a facade.

When we begin to use fantasy to escape Reality it is known as Escapism, which tends to lead to loss of focus/concentration, reduce productivity and in the long run destroys lives.
So we all should be careful of the invisible line between the REALITY and FANTASY.
