Another #beautifulsunday #sublimesunday in the forest
To start the article here some highlights of the day 24th of July, 2022

As I have mentioned in my previous posts we have been undergoing a heatwave and several wildfires in the region. And though temperatures started to become milder last Friday, yesterday we had again a peak over 40C and we decided to leave the house and aim for a cooler place under the shade of the forest. On our drive we saw that the usually damp and green looked a bit dull and some trees have brown leaves as if it were autumn starting. As we went higher fortunately the beechwoods started to look more vibrant and lush as I'm used to and my heart rejoiced with this dose of green I so much very needed and it was way cooler than in the sweltering town.
Summer is usually one of my favourite times of the year, bathing in river and splashing in ponds but this one is proving to be a challenge for me due to the high temperatures we've had.
So OFF TO THE WOODS... again
A day of grounding, healing and refreshing... and here to share it with you

I come to this spot every season, on some other occasion I'll show you this very place throughout the seasons

By the creek
We spent quite a long time there... still too hot too hike long distances, just relaxing by the gurgling water. @hedac helped me to take the pictures I'm sharing in this post and we also recorded some relaxing nature sounds (the stream, birds chirping...) for future music recordings. Of coruse I brought my flute with me and there was a time for music too.

And barefoot as they gather, nymphs playing by the creeks
We stopped by the creek. It has less water than usual but still hyaline and clear.

Hugging trees
I always say that I'm a tree hugger and if you follow my blog here you'll know because I have mentioned before that there is science to the happiness and the bonding you feel when you hug a tree. It makes you release oxytocin so it makes you feel relaxed, happy and connected :)
I couldn't help to notice this beech tree. I don't know if it's one or two trees entwined in what it looks a kissing embrace. Anyway I thought it was beautiful. Can you see it?

This is a picture of myself standing by it (or them?)

Cold Therapy

Did you know that cold has therapeutical properties? . Exposing your body to cold can help reduce inflammation, swelling, and sore muscles and help you recover from tiredness and fatigue. It's also linked to improved quality of sleep, focus and immune responses of our bodies. Of course within measure. Having undergone such stress and overheating for almost a month this felt like a needed balm. It has been strenuous to thrive through the high temperatures, sleep deprived and dizzy. After a while by the cold creek I felt as good as new. It is also lasting, that feeling of cooling down in your skin.
I went in clothes and all as keeping your clothes damp can also help to dissipate the heat by evaporation.

A little pond of fresh water, it was not very big or deep but it was enough to refresh myself and splash with this magnificent view.

And to wrap up the day and despite not being a good photo but just an impression, the first firefly I've seen in a long while
Ps. I saw clouds today for the first time in many days...

Still "not out of the woods" though
The danger is not over... we still haven't had a drop of rain... Some of the trees had brown leaves as if it were Autumn already.

Even my poor little oak tree at home scorched and has lost many of the leaves.

On our journey back home we saw many brown trees and several dead birds by the road. I suffer thinking about the wild animals struggling to find a sip of water, and thus I always insist you remember to leave water stations if it's hot outside for the little birds and animals to drink.
August has not even started but I'm just praying for some rain... we could do with those creeks replenished and those leaves more tender. Today I've seen clouds for the first time in a month.
Hope you enjoyed this hike into the woods with me.
