Las sombras nocturnas abrazan los muros de piedra históricos del casco antiguo de la población de Oropesa del Mar en la provincia de Castellón de la Plana, en España. Entre estos muros, se encuentra uno, que corresponde a la cárcel. Reconozco que me produjo cierto desazón encontrarme a solas en este punto de mi paseo nocturno, digamos que el aire me parecía denso ¿Quién y por qué habrá cumplido condena entre esas piedras?
Por suerte, hay otros rincones que me resultaron más acogedores. La arquitectura tradicional mediterránea es la que prima. Creo que la fotografía en blanco y negro es mejor para transmitir la sensación que me produce pasear a solas entre casas construidas a comienzos del siglo pasado, si no antes. Supongo que esto me pasa porque, en cierto modo, me recuerda mi niñez y por aquel entonces, la fotografía en color aún no existía.

Fortunately, there are other places that I find more welcoming. Traditional Mediterranean architecture is what prevails. I think that black and white photography is better at conveying the feeling I get when I walk alone among houses built at the beginning of the last century, if not before. I suppose this happens to me because, in a way, it reminds me of my childhood and at that time, colour photography did not yet exist.
