Web3 is for Everyone!
I was trained as an agricultural engineer, a profession I hold dear due to its potential for food sufficiency, However, I got endeared to a course on research and technical writing and that helped me build on my research, analytical, and reporting skills. These were the pointers that boosted my writing capabilities and I finally found joy in serving as a Research engineer to many corporate organizations and institutions. Glad to have made in-depth research hacks that led to innovations and modifications of engineering systems for organizations and companies for improved outputs. I didn't see that coming at the beginning of my career pursuit in the Engineering field.
Getting along with my research, data analysis, and reporting jobs, I stumbled on the Hive blockchain and got endeared to how the social space operated but in a different way from the social platforms I was already a part of. I learned, learned, and learned and I got to know there was much information and level of tech advancement I was starved of. The web3 ecosystem is a part of the most recent tech revolution but it baffles me how hard existing system tends to fight the adoption of these advances. Perhaps because of web3, everyone accesses the benefits of technology, and it's transparent.
After Five years of embracing the web3 ecosystem, I am convinced, it's a place to build and grow brands to thrive sustainably. I have come to discover that every sector of our economy can integrate seamlessly into web3 with attendant benefits for their members. Journeying into web3 as a content creator helped me to learn from other authors and I've steadily grown delving into the investment and technical aspects of web3 technology gradually and it has helped me refine my skills-needs. Becoming a full-stacked web3 web3 educator and consultant is the goal so as to help more individuals and organizations onboard and take advantage of the benefits we enjoy here.
The Transition
One of the sure-fire ways to transition to tech is to learn the skill(s) required to function in specific areas of interest. To achieve this, the popular route is to take online courses, register for and join boot camps as well as write certification exams. The unpopular route is to join a web3 social space like Hive. I've got the most of the learnings here and mostly free. besides, I've earned while learning to transition seamlessly into the Tech-based Career world and remote work experience.
There are challenges...
Every career transitions often lead to unforeseen challenges and remarkable discoveries. As an agricultural engineer, my journey has taken an unexpected turn toward the tech-based realm. This shift has not only opened new doors but has also presented a unique set of hurdles.
In embracing the shift, the transition from soil analysis to coding and content creation was both exhilarating and challenging. As a remote worker, the lack of physical proximity challenged my traditional notions of collaboration. I have lost a set of friends over time, though made new ones. I had literally abandoned my office space for a time too, missing out on some connections. Adapting to virtual communication tools became paramount, emphasizing the need for effective online collaboration platforms and seamless communication channels.
However, there has been an improvement in the learning curve
Navigating the tech-centric sphere demanded an upskilling journey. Acquiring proficiency in coding languages, understanding blockchain technology, and mastering the art of crafting engaging content in the digital realm required a commitment to continuous learning. The demand is still high and the learning continues. Presently, the focus is on marketing a web3 brand. Thanks to the ambassadorial role at INLEO that has exposed me to several situations and demands that are helping to upskill me in this regard. The learning curve, though steep, has proved to be a gateway to unparalleled growth.
In trying to balance passion and practicality, many think there is nothing tangible or real about web3, but we are going to prove them wrong. The quest to build bridges is a priority. There is a big push to create systems that can bridge the gap between traditional domains and cutting-edge technologies. This is my inspiration and push!
Finally, as I continue to tread this path of transition, each hurdle transforms into a stepping stone toward a more versatile and fulfilling career. Embracing the challenges of remote work, technological literacy, and the integration of Web3 technologies, I have built resilience and become a lifelong learner open to scalability and positive change in all fronts.
