Die erste Spende die unter dem Projekt @hive.helps gemacht wurde, erfolgte heute am Internationalen Kinderkrebstag.
Sie ging an die Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung.
Ich möchte in dem Artikel kurz auf das Thema Krebs bei Kindern und die Arbeit der Stiftung eingehen.
Our first donation
The first donation made under the @hive.helps project takes place today on International Childhood Cancer Day.
It goes to the German Childhood Cancer Foundation.
In this article, I would like to briefly discuss the topic of childhood cancer and the work of the foundation.
Krebs bei Kindern
Jedes Jahr erkranken in Deutschland ca. 2.250 Kinder und Jugendliche an Krebs. 2020 sind weltweit ca. 280.000 Kinder und Jugendliche an Krebs erkrankt, wobei es hier eine große Dunkelziffer geben dürfte, da Krebs bei Kindern in vielen Ländern gar nicht diagnostiziert wird. Der Anteil der Krebserkrankungen die weltweit auf Kinder und jugendliche entfällt ist relativ gering. Dennoch ist Krebs die häufigste Krankheitsbedingte Todesursache von Kindern in Deutschland und die zweithäufigste in der Schweiz. Am Internationalen Kinderkrebstag soll unter anderem deshalb für dieses Thema sensibilisiert und darüber aufgeklärt werden. Die häufigste Form von Krebs im Kindesalter sind Leukämie und Lymphome aber Tumore des Hirns und Rückenmarks. Diese oft in akuten Formen. (rki.de)
Laut Studien aus der Schweiz überleben heute ca. 8 von 10 Kindern eine Krebserkrankung, während 1960 nur 3 von 10 Kindern überlebten. (SRF.at). Dies ist dem steten Fortschritt in der Medizinforschung und den heute zur Verfügung stehenden Behandlungsmethoden und Medikamenten zu verdanken. Oftmals leiden junge Krebspatienten aber unter Langzeitfolgen der Krebstherapien, da diese in der Wachstumsphase erfolgen.
Daher geht unsere Spende zum Internationalen Kinderkrebstag an die Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung.
Cancer in children
Every year, around 2,250 children and adolescents in Germany are diagnosed with cancer. In 2020, around 280,000 children and adolescents worldwide are diagnosed with cancer, although there is likely to be a large number of unreported cases, as cancer in children is not even diagnosed in many countries. The proportion of cancers that affect children and adolescents worldwide is relatively low. Nevertheless, cancer is the most common cause of death from disease in children in Germany and the second most common in Switzerland. One of the aims of International Childhood Cancer Day is to raise awareness and educate people about this issue. The most common forms of childhood cancer are leukaemia and lymphoma, but tumours of the brain and spinal cord. These often occur in acute forms. (rki.de)
According to studies from Switzerland, around 8 out of 10 children survive cancer today, whereas in 1960 only 3 out of 10 children survived. (SRF.at). This is thanks to the constant progress in medical research and the treatment methods and drugs available today. However, young cancer patients often suffer from the long-term effects of cancer treatments, as these are administered during the growth phase.
This is why our donation for International Childhood Cancer Day goes to the German Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Die Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung
Die Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung kümmert sich in vielen Belangen darum, das Leben von Krebskranken Kindern, sowie ihren Eltern und Geschwistern besser zu machen.
Sie tut dies über Aufklärung zum Thema, z.B. Informationsmaterialien, Seminare, Beratungen, oder Videos.
Sie hilft Familien, die aufgrund einer Krebserkrankung ihres Kindes in finanzielle Not geraten sind über einen Sozialfonds.
Mit Partner wie z.B. der "DFB Stiftung Egidius Braun" werden Ferien-Freizeiten für Kinder während und nach einer Krebserkrankung veranstaltet.
Darüber hinaus fördert die Stiftung Forschungsprojekte rund um neue Behandlungsmethoden, und schonendere Verfahren und beschleunigt auf diese Weise den medizinischen Fortschritt und die Überlebenschancen unserer Kleinen.
Kurzum die Stiftung engagiert sich sehr breit im Kampf gegen den Krebs bei Kindern und ist somit eine sehr gute Wahl für eine Unterstützung durch das "Hive.Helps-Projekt".
The German Childhood Cancer Foundation
The German Childhood Cancer Foundation works in many areas to improve the lives of children with cancer, as well as their parents and siblings.
It does this by providing information on the subject, e.g. information material, seminars, counselling or videos.
It helps families who are in financial need due to their child's cancer through a social fund.
Together with partners such as the "DFB Stiftung Egidius Braun", holiday camps are organised for children during and after cancer.
In addition, the foundation supports research projects on new treatment methods and gentler procedures, thereby accelerating medical progress and the chances of survival for our little ones.
In short, the foundation is very broadly involved in the fight against childhood cancer and is therefore a very good choice for support from the "Hive.Helps Project".

Es wird genau festgehalten, wenn HBD oder Hive gesendet werden. Sollte das Projekt wieder erwarten nicht fortgeführt, werden alle Spenden zurücküberwiesen.
Derzeit können leider keine Spendenbescheinigungen ausgestellt werden. Es wird gerade geprüft, ab wann es sich lohnen würde eine gemeinnützige GmbH zu gründen, um eine höhere Verbindlichkeit und steuerliche Vorteile zu erzeugen.
