When transitioning a brand or business into the blockchain space, there has to be some urgency to secure the brand's Web3 identity. The last thing you want to do is hit the ground running only to have your brand's crypto domain/profile snatched up by a domain trader or squatter...regardless of what chains you frequent on.
Unbeknownst to most, the blockchain domain industry is an entire market on its own, and accounts for a large percentage of the overall NFT trading volume. Once the masses recognize the utility with these domains, expect an even bigger surge than we've seen this past year.
This sector is primed to have the longevity of the traditional domain name industry (.com, .io, etc.), so its best to secure yours while the barrier of entry is still relatively low. - Unstoppable Domains - e.g. futureprooforg.blockchain, futureprooforg.nft
- BTC domain - e.g. futureprooforg.btc
- Decentraland profile/avatar
- Cryptovoxels profile/avatar
There are others, but based on the combination of users, volume, and utility, this is more than enough to plant your flag. These alone will allow you to send/receive payments for your business, build web3 compatible sites,navigate active metaverse projects with a profile/avatar you own, post media & content directly on-chain, and more.
If you claim to be about ownership, you have to own your name...there's no way around it. Self-custody blockchain domains and profiles will be the brick & mortar structures of digital real estate.
