
Here in Banff National Park, Alberta, we have some of the best manicured trails in Canada. I suppose it is kind of an expectation, while inside a park you have payed to enter. It does make such a difference compared to just hiking out in the wilderness. Along with the manicured trails comes good signage (mostly), letting one know where you are and which direction you ought to head in; this is important obviously. Throw in a bench to relax on every so often is also most welcome. One of my pet peeves is being out on a trail and not knowing whether you should take the left or the center, or the what…I suppose using the Alltrails app likely would solve this problem though.
