Happy Monochrome Monday!!!
Well it seemed like a monochrome kind of a day, especially in the financial markets. Dismal to say the least. Days like these make me think of the lyric by the late, great Merle Haggard where he asks, "are the good times really over for good?"
However crypto seems to be up as of 10PM EST as I am writing this. Seems to be a possible ramp even in the stock futures, but there is plenty of time for that to change by time the markets open in 12 hours.
According to the community page, the Colour/ Black and White Community is a place for those who like to post both color and black and white versions of the same shot. It was started and curated by @daveks and is a lot of fun for me because I have always enjoyed monos as well as color shots.
I was hoping for some clear winners in this go around. Sadly, most seemed to be ties, with no clear winners to my eyes.
You know there is an old Wall Street adage that says, "Dont fight the Fed". I wish now I had leaned on that free advice a bit longer than I did. Yep, the OldGuy is always out there dancing around like a fool trying to perfectly time the catching of knives with my bare hands!
Everyone hates inflation. It basically acts as a universal tax on everyone whether rich or poor. However, has the increase in prices been so severe we need to risk a full blown recession?? Would not the pent up demand created by the pandemic and the supply chain constraints eventually moderated?? Now the way we are headed, we will see huge job losses as well as a broken real estate market.
I suppose all we can do is try our best and hope for the rest. The big kids are running the show, and they don't much care about us!
